Dude.. Don't settle too fast. Insurers are not really your friends. They know you have to be some rattled and will not recall the event at anywhere close to 100%. Hopefully this lawyer you are hooked up with is working on a contingency basis. He may not be your friend either but he (or she) is your advocate. The insurers ain't neither/either.

Bottom line..All or any of this should not cost you a loonie. You need to be compensated for time off work too. Sure they are going to try buying you off with maybe a few thou to replace your totaled bike.

Don't go for it.. You are playing in their ballpark. Kind of like walking into a stealership thinking that somehow we/us is more slick than the guy that owns the joint..

You are the damaged party. Not them.

 

What did you practice in your head? I'm sure we all do that but did your practice work as you thought it would? The fact that you are here to talk about it kind of answers that one I guess.

Stop posting any comments what so ever on this public forum of the incident. What may seem of no significance may come up later. If the lawyers catch wind of this thread, everything, and I mean everything you said here, may have to be proven in court. Even any opinions you have about ATGATT. If you fail to prove even a simple unimportant comment you made, they may call into question your answers to more important answers.

I am sure Alaskan, if he is an attorney, may have given you similar advice but I must reiterate, stop talking on line about this. Don't start another thread until any claims have been settled. I would go back and delete all your posts in this thread on this to be on the safe side. Unfortunately, you cannot delete portions where someone has quoted you. Hopefully, those who have quoted you, will go back and edit their posts to remove your quote.

I am not too sure how secure or protected our private messaging is so I would be guarded there too. If you need to speak with one of us, send a PM to the individual and request their email addy and liaise that way.

I know MPIC is good to deal with so long as you are not trying to get something you are not entitled to, much like ICBC. But where you may run into difficulties is the other person's insurance company who will almost guarantee to deny liability on behalf of their client. But MPIC and your lawyer are there to work on your behalf.

Most important, sure happy to hear you made it through this one. I still want to meet up for a "Standard" at your favorite watering hole next time I make it out to the Peg. Maybe the St. Charles or the Ox?

I happened to know a rider who was in a similar wreck a while back and didn't make it. Going on memorial rides in memory of people you rode with on a regular basis sucks, I hope you never have to experience that. But seeing as that requires making friends, I strongly doubt it. Ugh. Dropped my baby this morning. Just a silly brain fart, slipped and dropped it while rolling it out. She fell against the garage wall and the tank was dented. Reading the tally at the beginning of this thread made me feel better. Any suggestions on repairing this kind of dent?

 

I haven't dropped my bike this year or even broken anything at all
maybe a few post of people who haven't screwed up might be in order
last year was not like that, I have become a great vfr rider
