The higher the screen, the more it will deflect the wind upward. The more upward, the more the wind roar. Wind roar can also come into the helmet - and also buffetting depends on the aerodynamic design of the helmet. A NOJ Collar for the bottom of the helmet can reduce this (no personal experience, but will buy one soon). I never had the stock screen - I am 6 ft, so I had the ZG DB put on before it ever rolled onto the street. I liked it alot. Looks the best - doesn't scratch like the OEM one sitting on my shelf (where it will stay for all eternity). I upgraded with the Givi Touring Screen. Fitment I have to disagree with Reg71 - it shows a little on the inside of the windscreen where it bolts to the fairing - the plastic covers look like they are too short. Also I now get bets in where I can't remove then without a brush - but it helps out the windflow I am sure or it wouldn't be like that. But with the Givi, I can sit straight up at 80 mph indicated on the highway without being slapped around - IN MY SHOEI RF1000 with LEATHER JACKET meeting the edges of the helmet - this is important to mention, reason being without the flush mounting of my helmet to my shoulders, I get some buffeting at 75 mph sitting up. It has a lot to do with flow. I get more roar at over 40 mph, but I wear plugs, and I expect that. No matter what you do, you'll never get rid of the Bugs, Rain or Wind - you will only make it more tollerable. Anything else and you'll be planting yourself on an ST or test-driving a Goldwing like I did and wondering why it feels like a diesel motor that can pull a house and was never meant to come to a stop  But the ZG DB I couldn't go over 70 mph without buffetting regardless of a Jacket or not. I honestly think that anything more than a ZG DB is more specific on aerodynamics of your helmet, riding equipment, and the speed you travel...oh, and height. Oh damn, one big thing I noticed in all the windscreens - the further you sit back (move your head back), the less strength the buffetting has and calming the wind is. Relocating the bars as in using Risers and Handlebars - or Helibars, is a very big comfort upgrade and helps out with the wind management. If you don't beleive me - ride the bike and highway speeds with one hand and pull your body back, or ride both with your fingertips (don't wreck please). You will get exactly what I am saying! :juggle: fyi...pic in the avatar is a ZG DB Screen, a day before my Givi arrived. An 8-hour trip that would have been much more tolerable with the Givi! Givi isn't detracable by any means, but isn't as sleek as the ZG, and it doesn't look as intergrated into the package, but with bags, tankbag and topcase - it looks right at home. Will post up a Pic of the Givi as soon as I can from a side angle. If I get some time later on, I'll take picture of the differences between the Stocker, DB ZG and Givi Touring. .
