I tend to laugh when I see people get all worked up on these forums. I used to be an admin for an online gaming forum and alot of the 'fights' I read on here and my local MC forum especially, are tame in comparison to what I'd have to deal with on a fairly regular basis. I know of several examples where a forum argument would escalate into people driving across state lines to beat the crap out of each other.

I'm guessing there are studies that support higher education levels lead to less arguments and allows people to engage in constructive debate. I know there are studies that support higher education leads to increased salary, promotion, jobs, etc. And it's not the piece of paper that does those things, it's how people act and think after going through the experiences required to obtain that piece of paper. I'm not saying education automatically gives someone a free pass to being at a higher level than less educated, but statistically the higher the education level the higher the propensity to reap benefits in so many other areas.

... and I've never heard anyone ever say, "Gee, I wish I didn't try so hard in school," or, "Wow, I should have never went to college." I've heard plenty of people say, "Man, I wish I tried harder in school/finished my degree/networked better." Hind-sight is 20/20....

Hey Nung, we live in a sinful fallen world brother...WELCOME ABOARD!

    LOL!.

I agree brother, out of all the forums I've crused, VFRW is the MOST tolarent. I have the proof we are the most tolarent too!

The admin and mods let elf800 (and all other alias used by him) have a home here in VFRW. And suprisingly, the majority of us stayed pretty civil torwards him. I mean people bashed him, but not as hard as I thought we would.

I like what powerslave said, only post what you'd say to someones face. Also, I recommend getting together with fellow VFRW members. It's easier to dechiper posts afterward. Although I can say KC-10FE is EXACTLY like his posts LOL! Just friendlier with the delivery:)!

Where else are you gonna find the administrator of a public forum calling for more boobs?

    I love this place.

Nungboy, Speaking of boobies, what's with this "nun" thing? Sounds like a sexually repressed youth. (is that why "Nun" is part of your screen name?) :)

Sorry, I know you're trying to have a serious discussion, right?

Good post. Lots of good points.

I've learned from working with groups of people most of my life that there are a minimum of 10% @ssholes in every crowd. No matter what type of people make up that crowd. I also have experienced that anybody and everybody can be an @sshole at one time or another no matter what the environment is. I love the saying I've seen on some T-shirts "Instant @sshole, just add alcohol". It rings so true.

I've been at good sites that have been ruined because of said people and very little policing by either the moderator/owner or the people themselves. I've also been drawn to sites because they are controlled for no @sshole postings. Here's a great site for that and the amounts of super information from some of the top engine/car builders in the country, Speed Talk. That's why I like this site so much. Very few iceholes.

Now I don't think "boobies" and "nun" should be in the same sentence. Nun means none.

So don't be a "farrrging icehole", be nice.

    Peace, love and boobies.

Put two people together and there will be two points of view. In some cases one will be right, or at least more accurate. Most of the time, the correct answer is found somewhere in the middle. The unfortunate part is that human beings as a whole, either cannot put themselves on the outside neutral side to see both sides of an arguement, or are stubborn enought that they simply refuse to see anything other than from their own position. Too bad. There are lots of good opinions out there. Here too

    Thanks Nungboy for the thread.

You know, those are my two favorite things (left and right)! The more the better!

It has taken me years to get over that overbearing-guilt-fear-repression upbringing that the nuns hoisted upon me! I got a good education but my was it heavy handed.

Thanks for all the great replies folks! And I am glad that a number of you say what I know is true...VFRWorld is the best Forum I have been a part of.

Nungboy, I have a close friend who refers to his present condition as being a "Catholic in Healing". He loves the Lord and he loves Catholics, as do I. I meant ABSOLUTELY no disrespect for the Church or you. If it seemed so, you have my profound apologies.

Now, on to my other comrade here on this great forum.

    Grey750F,
I sincerely apologize for my tasteless humor. You are probably right and those two words should not be in the same sentence. However much you choose to elevate Nuns and Priests to instant sainthood, they remain human beings. I thought "everyone" knew that. Obviously not. I suspect most Priests and Nuns have a more fertile sense of humor than you seem to have. I also suspect those same people would have far more difficulty reconciling your repeated (even one) use of "@sshole" or "farrrging" in your response, which you obviously misspell in an attempt to circumvent being moderated on this forum. But then, I suspect few Nuns and Priests are viewing a motorcycle forum, but rather studying the Bible, as apparently you should also be doing, so you're safe.

Now, I must also apologize to the forum and explain. My original comment was intended strictly as humor (something I'm obviously not good at, but I stiil have to practice). I gleaned indication that Nungboy had a sense of humor and I still believe so. Grey750F doesn't seem to possess that quality. Looking back, I noticed that I omitted punctuation that would have separated "boobies" and "nuns" into separate sentences. That might have avoided all of this. What bothers me most is someone who uses foul language as Grey750F does. It also irritates me when someone plots to circumvent the rules of the forum to insert such vulgarities and then because of his own religious beliefs (and ignores those beliefs by using such vulgarities), insults me by calling me what must be his favorite vulgarities (farrrging and icehole) and also implies that I am an alcoholic. None of which have any basis in fact or truth and are seemingly nothing more than the rant of someone who is religiously repressed. Yet he strikes back at that very religion by ignoring it's very specific edicts and directions against profanity. He also calls for specific moderation of this forum, except, of course, in his case. Quite the hypocrite, it seems.

On the other hand, I'm probably simply dealing with someone that has been described by a "Grey750F' on this very forum as part of "a minimum of 10% of @ssholes in every crowd"(Also intended to be humor... practice, practice, practice!).

Grey750F, lighten up and get a life, eh?

LOL Now that's funny I don't care who you are. WheeeFR You just made my day. From your response I see you can't really tell when you read sarcastic humor! Or may be it's because of the non-inflections from a key board. (Fog horn leg horn voice) I say, I say boy that was a joke! :hump:

Now for the vulgarities I never used the real words because I respect the board. I guess you never saw the movie "Johnnie Dangerously". That's also a joke my boy. Seems like you didn't have a problem with repeating it though. I guess your the police for the board and the world that revolves around you. I never pointed to you or anybody about being and alcoholic! Seeing I've known Bill W for over 15 yrs I wouldn't do that. I just made a statement about a T-shirt I had seen. You ASSUMED. Which if you separate the word you will see what you made yourself out to be. Also I have no religion and don't believe in it. Seems your holier than I even if I did. Again you ASSUMED I was making some point about or to YOU. Which I was not. If I did I would mention your name, believe me on that one. But then again it seems like you have it all figured out and can accuse people you don't know anything about, of things that you ASSUME they are projecting, thinking or doing without question.

I apologize to anybody that got hurty feelings over my post. It was not intended to be that way to anyone.

But I can see some of that 10% clearly.

    Have a good day.

I agree we should all stop fighting. Now everyone admit once and for all that RWB 6th Gens are the best and fastest VFR's out there and Shell Rotella T is the best oil to use.

I use a Buell forum www.Badweatherbikres.com even though I don't ride one anymore. Because they have regular get togethers (most are unofficial) we know quite a few of the regular posters and get along quite well. The moderators also keep a short leash on the jerks and will suspend them if they get out of hand.

It was a great help when I bought my '99 Buell and helped me keep it running for 63,000mi. before I sold it. This site helps too even though the VFRs are darn near trouble free.

I also think that it is like sports teams, some people get all hot and bothered over stuff that is meaningless to most sane people. I mean, does it really matter if your YamiHonSuzi can go 250mph in 6 seconds? No, but some people think it gives them prestige if their bike does. Shoot, look at the Harley crowd. They ride overpriced, underpowered road barges and they think everybody elese's bikes are junk.
