The dude on the two-stroke who was reaching for something before he whacked the dude on the Harley if it was a Harley was not to bright either. As to buddies, several of the bikes in the entire vid were modded bikes of other than Harley manufacture ( long swingarms) who didn't stop to help either of the two.

The whole deal was another of the "stunta" runs that for some reason are popular with riders whose IQs are just above room temp and some short of 98.6 F.

The upshot is that both dudes got their 15 seconds of fame.

None of the bikes have number plates. Pretty much a statement of intent that they intend to ride like village idiots.
I would like to think that in WA they would be rounded up by a swarm of police and all the bikes impounded.

 

Yep, in WA and OR their 15 minutes of fame would be short lived. In what looks like the Midwest or "the rustbelt" maybe not. Same goes for LA areas in SoCal. The laws and penalties are USA States Rights issues inclusive of jurisdictions and municipalities.

The ton in OR calls for impound of bikes and cages. Maybe even a ride in a patrol vehicle to the local "greybar hotel".

Here, the bad dudes are slowed effectively with spike strips.. Not something ya wanna ride over on a bike at speed..

Running without plates if one was stopped by a LEO, could be construed as a stolen bike and a possible felony.. Impound and a sure ride in that patrol rig..

 

The WA I referred to was Western Australia. The reaction from police would be be similar.

Depending on the locale, we have the local (city), county (Sheriffs) and State (state) Police.

 

Only state police on the streets.
Federal police in airports, special task forces, and diplomatic protection.

 

We have Feds too. US Marshalls, FBI, US Secret Service ect. All are faced with similar problems as y'all with those who bring all their shit with them and the expect everyone to conform to their ways.

I ran into an old co worker yesterday. Was telling me how he bought a Harley and was proud to own an American made bike. I asked him what year, "brand new, 32k with everything you would want". I then asked him where his forks were made. "Merica!" No those are made in Japan by Showa. How about the wiring harness. "Its an American bike!!" Well the harness is made in Mexico. After a few more parts and origin were discussed his feathers were not as fluffed. I told him if he wants to buy a truly American bike look at Victory or Indian. I think Victory is 99.9% all American except for some fuel injection part made in Sweden.

 

My son-in law just graduated from the Chicago Police Academy in May. He told me the CPD's policy on persuit is once the offender commits two violations all persuit must stop! Speeding + Blown stoplight = End of Chase. Too high of a percentage of hurting innocent bystanders in a population this dense.

 

Damn Swedes! Give em a centimeter and they'll take a kilometer.

 

Now days, in the US, every police force is running scared of law suits and public sentiment for these criminals. The pendulum will swing back, I hope.
