I like wearing mine around the house if I'm not riding.

    To each his own.

Damn man!!! How obvious is it that you're NOT married NCB!

My gear is in the garage in its own Gladiator Garageworks cabinet under lock and key so Tori can't come steal it!

My gear is hanging in our closet, right beside my wife's gear. Our helmets are on the shelf above them. Our riding boots sit right alongside the other shoes and boots.

I used to hang my jacket on a chair for a couple of hours after I got off the 599 to let the exhaust smell dissipate some before I stuck it in the closet. I don't get the smell from the VFR so it goes right in the closet.

Here's how I store my riding gear

My buddy Dan is a carpenter as well as a motorcyclist. Last year I told him that I was envisioning for my heated garage the creation a compact, efficient, sturdy, and well organized storage solution for my burgeoning array of motorcycle gear. (This gear includes an assortment of helmets, riding gloves, riding jackets and pants, tire gauges, Autocom cables, owners manuals, polishes, spray cleaners, etc.)

Together we designed a system of compartmentalized/partitioned shelves, hangers, hooks, small cubby shelves, and so on. I specified that the outer margins of all flat storage surfaces be rimmed with 0.50" tall strips of wood bumpers in order to prevent any loose items from rolling or falling off of the shelves.

I'm new to this forum, and my computer skills leave much to be desired. I've just tried to attach several of these photos from newly created Image Gallery within this forum in order for you all to see what I'm talking about, but the server rejected them for having too large a file size.

    Kind regards,

    Kurt

My gear is all over the place. I keep trying to reorganise it, but after a ride the helmet with the gloves (if dry) inside goes on the kitchen table, the jacket over a chair, and the tank bag usually is somewhere near the door. Spare clothing and helmets go in the front closet if they weren't used recently.

I have a shelf for my gear (not nearly as nice as Norcal's) but I only place the items there if it's going to be a while between rides.

It's just me and the wife in a three bedroom house so gear storage is no problem for me, half of a bedroom closet is dedicated to motorcycle gear and apparel.

I'll never leave any gear in the garage again after a near catastrophe when I left my commuter helmet on a shelf, I didn't ride for awhile because of bad weather and when the day came to finally ride i grabbed my helmet nonchalantly and started to put it on when I noticed out of the corner of my eye a white cocoon in my ear hole, when I fished out the ear hole a baby Black Widow came out, still freaks me the f*ck out when I think about it to this day...

    Yikes!

My gear stays inside in a closet with my toys.
My helmets... are in the garage next to the bike.
Maybe I should bring them inside.
