First: Good for you. Perhaps they will train some common sense into you (and maybe some grammar skills to go with it.) Keep in mind, in my experience working with them, PJ's are honorable men who have to use thier HEADS. You won't have one or any skin for that matter if you keep up those antics. Best of luck with that.

Second: Not hating on you at all. Just hate that you are driving 155 on the highway. IF you crash at that speed, we will need a dental pathologist to identify you. Not to mention that you are endangering the lives of those around you AND giving motorcyclists a bad name.

Now THIS is kinda funny... The first thing I think about when it comes to wheelies is how it will potentially starve the engine for oil on a four stroke, and how tough the landing is on the front forks on a heavy bike like the VFR...

Having the front wheel come up a couple of inches under hard acceleration as a side affect is one thing; resorting to mechanically disrespectful coercion is something else entirely. But then again, although I do have a great deal of respect for the skills some of the stunt riders have, it really bothers me how abusive they are to their equipment. That includes the X game guys (motorcycles and bicycles) who deliberately get off the bike after their run and let it crash, just because. What can I say? I'm like that...

Wheelies are great fun on a two stroke dirt bike, especially if you're in the dirt. It doesn't hurt too bad when things go wrong. And even if nothing goes wrong, the motor doesn't run out of oil.

Is it still "my .02" even with inflation?

You could easily annihilate a nice family of border crossers in addition to deer, antelope, loose cattle or horses in your area at night going toooooooo fast in low visability.....

Good reasoning, personally cringe just thinking of the steering head jolt as a VFR slaps itself back down. The stupidity of wheelying on a public street aside the VFR being heavier and less powerfull than your Gixers & RRs etc is a not the best machine to do them on and have too much respect for my refined VFR to ever consider it a stunting machine.

Much like argueing with a HD dimwit who says "rice rockets" suck, argueing with squids is a giant waste of my time.

    Happy 4th of July everyone.

Great video if your intent is to show people how NOT to ride correctly. I'm surprised that none of the guys you were riding with kicked your ass afterwards.

    Just a thought......
How is pulling the occaisional wheelie any more squidly than draggin' a peg on a public road?

Not sure if the rider was just sitting on the riders rears for the sake of the Vid but have pulled aside a young guy last year on a 600RR and warned him in not kind words riding close is not safe relating a recent case where 4 Kawasaki riders coming hot into a corner run into each other causing a fireball that destroyed the bikes and melted the road.

Some nice looking corners and looks like a good riders road.

Yes of course, mind if you hang off and not over ambitious you shouldn't be dragging pegs on the road in the first place.

Hey there mosquito rancher. I have dragged the peg four times and am none the worse for wear. Even put war wounds on the faring each time too. Fortunately I was stopped each time. Bike started going over due to loosing balance when stopped and with previous back injuries, I just guide it down and get someone to help me pick it up. Damned Rookies eh! Can I use that word here. Or should I use huh.

    But good point raised.

BTW, how's the West Nile situation out there this year?

Can someone explain to me how dragging a knee or scraping a peg could even remotely be considered being a squid? Last time I checked, sport bikes are meant for high performance CORNERING. The engineers go to amazing lengths to ensure that each remodel is better than the one before. There has never (& probably never will be) a motorcycle designed to do wheelies. Now if one takes a turn at 50MPH on a road that is posted at 50MPH but has a yellow advisory sign of 35MPH, how on earth does that make one a squid? The answer is it doesn't. I know of one turn close to my house that is a 90d, both roads being posted at 50MPH. In my truck, I need to slow to approx 15MPH to safely negotiate this turn. On the VFR, I can do the same turn at approx 35-40MPH. Does this make me a squid? No, it just means I know how to turn my bike safely at higher speeds.

I am not against stunts or wheelies in any way. I am only against them being done on public streets. You want to stunt & squid, do it in a parking lot behind a wharehouse.

The bikes are designed for performance.....the public roads are not.
I'd also wager that if you round a 35 mph corner at 50 mph, you would be nowhere near draggin' a knee !

Not trying to pick a fight....just wondering why wheelies are so evil and comitting to corners on the street to the point of hangin' off and draggin' stuff is acceptable.

Errr maybe not knee dragging but " Hanging off " a bit is quite a normal way to ride as it keeps the motorcycle closer to upright giving more grip in the corners and greater ability to corner safer, note hanging off is also an important tool in the motorcyclists toolbox for riding on wet slippery roads.

You crack me up Randy! This had me rollin'!

My advice....only practice wheelies in a non-public setting. Otherwise, you further tarnish the already tarnished image of sportbikes.

Oh, and if you do choose to ride wheelies or do anymore riding in general.....PLEASE put some gear on! I know that Texas is hot and all, but c'mon, buckle up little camper!
