It's called technique, it's all in the hands and mind. It takes a lot of practice, plus these generation your riding have a higher front weight bias, great for riding but not so for popping wheelies on mark , yea can be done actually quit easy once you figure it out, thing is first know what to do. like maybe practice on another bike that does it easily, then work up to yours. Just saying, I know a dude that's an ace at it and has no trouble with the VFR750, but he also said not his 1st choice of bike to really do this on. Good to hear your trying to be smart about it.

I would be practicing on an MX bike if I was worried about my technique.
And It doesn't do if the wheel does not come off the ground ??? The only thing that would change that much in a wheel stand is the fuel. Or it's positioning.

Sounds like a classic case for good old fashioned basic tune up... Replace the plugs, clean or replace the air filter, take the bowls off the carbs and blow every little opening in them out with compressed air then try again in second gear rather than first. Usually when catching second after really winding out first the wheel comes up weather I want it to or not... I have stock sprockets, K&N Filter, stage 1 jets, TBR exhaust & a stiffer than average rear shock. I don't like first gear wheelies, I need a bit more inertia and wiggle room with the throttle to feel comfortable getting the wheel up & keeping it there. Plus seems like every time I tried in first it would rather spin the rear up than lift the front anyway (Maybe because of the shock?). I'm also not a fan of screwing with the sprocket set up unless I'm going to the track, I like an accurate speedometer when I'm on the street.

Well then you may have to look for a "leveling mercury switch" that your mom had a friend put on your bike to keep you from hurting yourself. If the front wheel comes off the ground more than two inches. The mercury in the switch flows away from one end where the contacts are. This in turn takes power away from the coils and makes the bike bog.
Your mom is just trying to protect you from yourself. She loves you and doesn't want to see you hurt from childish ideas.

Speedo runs off the front sprocket on my '91. Kinda crappy plastic socket thing that fits over the sprocket bolt.

ok guys this is gonna sound really weird.... my bike has the stock muffler has been cut shorter by P.O.... anyways i was fooling around the other day and took the muffler off for shits and giggles to see how it would sound and i took it up the road and the thing acted like a whole different machine it was faster and it would wheelie.... i kno it shouldnt run better without a muffler but could the P.O have done something wrong to the muffler?

On a carbureted machine running no muffler should make it go stronger in some parts of the rev range but it would also make it run leaner which is bad for any extended period, that's how you burn up pistons and valves. It would be very easy to mod a stock muffler thinking it's an improvement when it really does nothing or hinders performance. There is actually a bit of aerodynamics and thermodynamics involved in tuning an exhaust, you can't just go drilling holes and removing stuff willy nilly. The gases aren't just flowing straight out, they are expanding and changing in density, temperature and pressure. If the gas is allowed to cool too much before it exits it acts like a brick wall for the hotter gas coming up the pipe. An improperly modified muffler could act like an expansion chamber where the gases are just churning instead of flowing making it a bottle neck. More than once I've seen drilled out or removed baffle plates in boat exhausts that kill the top end power and the boat won't plane out anymore, I put it back to stock and the owner thinks I'm a miracle worker.
