Time for a front end swap :)
    That will get some attention
And the improved handling/braking/ease of maintenance/weight reduction could just be another side benefit... lol

None to not much if you know what you're doing and are patient. I found a complete take off R1 conversion for $500 on the classifieds here. Some guy had already swapped his 4th gen and then he hydrolocked the motor. He was trying to part out the bike piece by piece and having no luck. I kept badgering him about selling me the front end as a complete drop on swap. He wanted a grand, then 800 and then after a few months, I was able to talk him down to $500. I swapped everything on and sold the left over old VFR bits. Basically I did it for free and my only expense was a few weekends of labor with some buddies and buying some beer and lunch for the help.

I'm kinda handicapped being up here in Shaniaville. Shipping costs when I buy things shipping costs when I sell things. I think my paint is going to eat up the budget. Something to consider next year though!

I would place a higher priority on the pitted forks than paint, but yeah look into swapping if you can. I bought my full exhaust off of a guy in Canada. It wasn't a big deal.

It's the fork lowers. I will have them off the bike and taken apart this week. Going to powder coat them black like the 8th Gen.

Sent using Tapatalk and not whilst riding!
