You did the right thing. It was driving me nuts with all the Locktite talk...you went thru hell getting that screw out why would you "glue" the new one in? I would have greased it this time.

So I tore into moto this week. Messed with more stuff than I was planning. But the big thing was I got into that switch assembly and got it cleaned up. It wasn't too nasty. But needed attention.

The offending space was treated with anti-seize too.

Operating the hazards aren't that difficult any more. I'll be interested to see if this helps the issue of intermittent hiccupping starts.

Now the airbox is another story for another day:

Kudos for attacking your problems! I got a big kick out of your pictures with those impecably manicured nails and your spotless hands! Everytime I work on my bikes, I end up grease up to my elbows and grunge under my nails, (can't stand gloves). How do you do it??

JB said the other day that essentially snipping a phrase or sentence from a post was not a redaction.

A snippet: How do you do it??

A suitable response: Many ways including the missionary position.

@AM did you take the switch apart to clean the contacts--lots of little springs and balls in there to go flying about?

I was thinking the same thing, I would not attempt to take the switch apart on the bike for that reason. Rebuilt the mechanism on my '83 assembly, you have to be very careful.

I did not take the entire switch apart. The turn signal assembly had some of those bits in it. I loved taking it apart!

The only reason I didn't this time was due to rain moving in and losing time.

Contact cleaner, canned air, WD40 will have to do for now.

With all this help with switches of various kinds, IMO you should share for some your secrets of painting your nails and keeping them nice whilst wrenching.

Hmmm, can't help with the bracelet. It's a memorial bracelet that was sent to me with a special story behind it. There was another amazing AM out there in this world. <3

As for the nails...meet me and you find out.

I can't stand working with gloves either. I enjoy the feel of the parts in my bare hands and I love all of the grease and oil and grime that gets on my fingers too. I'm a nerd, but I love smelling them for a long time after I'm finished. Haha

They don't always look amazing. My fingers and hands get pretty filthy. If I didn't have polish on, the undersides of my nails would be looking really nasty. My nails are extremely strong, so when they break it was because I did something really dumb and it's really painful.

I can definitely get a photo next time I'm really having nasty fingers. lolzz

Ahhhh, I really would be in Heaven!
And all with lakes and mountains minutes away! You'd have a full-time assistant if I were there!

    Motel Hell?

I guess I'll have to pencil you in for more Trailer Accommodation in June.
That thing seems to get more mileage in the backyard then on the road.
I should put that Vacation Trailer on AirBnB.
This time I promise to turn ON the Hot Water.

Damn, this is my 100th Post,,.. I'm turning into a, Posting Queen.
Despite me being a Posting Queen,,.. you are still not allowed to Paint my Nails,,..
But I might need a Haircut,,..

    100th Post...WooHoo!!

I'm super great at nails, but I'd settle to do a haircut! I usually cut my own hair unless I'm donating it, so you could take a chance with me. Haha

Yep, I'll be up there hopefully before I know it!
We'll keep in touch. Maybe if you are around the first of June about, you can help me find a place to swap tires for knobbies. I'd be back 8-10 days later to swap out again for streets. If there's any life left in the knobbies, you can have them. Only if you promise to use them on one of your motos and ride The Tuk for me and let me know how it is. ;)

Anyhoo, yeah, AirBnB that trailer...you could make a killing!! It's super nice and you are super hosts!

I got the What Would A Molinity Would Do part. Mostly IMO Tweet aboot it endlessly from what I understand is their parents now not so spare room or basement. Hopefully the parents are not like the old woman who lived in a shoe and the gits would have to sleep outside.

Is that some Arabic Script printed on the bracelet? The top of the character especially looks like the figure on several flags of Middle Eastern countries ie the Crescent Moon and Star.

Hey now! I'm just a sensitive guy.

BTW, I have trouble with my high beam from time to time because I hardly ever touch it.

Anything with lots of springs and stuff needs careful disassembly. My old boss used to say "you need to take that apart under a #3 washtub."
