Oh Whew. If I get to the metal yard first thing in the morning, I might be able to pull it out of the pile before the crane magnet gets to work.

First the add says it's been store in his garage for 20yrs. Then he said on the phone it was started and rode,20 miles, 2yrs ago. NOW here's the biggy for being a dumbass. The bike has F1 slip-ons. The left is bashed in about half way and when I mention it he's like "Oh is it, I didn't know that". I asked him a couple of questions and he basiclly says he really doesn't know about V4's. Then I ask if fork fluid and others are original and he slowly states they are with an implied "originality" impression. Like it's a virgin type thing. Asked if he had the tail cowl. He stumbles at first like he didn't know there's supposed to be one then says yea it's around here somewhere. There were other things he didn't know about the bike. I never asked him anything about his owning or having the bike. It didn't get that far after seeing the brake MC lever go to the grip.

All in all I think this is the bike a college kid had that was advertised in the Mansfield CL for $1500. I don't know but may be his kids bike or he bought it cheaper from the kid and thinks he can turn a nifty profit because it's a rare "R" bike. Yes the speedo shows 5200ish and all the original parts are there and in very good shape for restoration. Without the original paint scheme and what the bike really needs (he thinks tires, gas and go) it's not really worth over 1k max. That's for someone really loving the R's and wants to bring it back. The question really is if it really is a 5k bike and all fluids are original, how much corrosion/rust is in calipers, slaves, tank etc?

I didn't even go to the lets start the bike thing. Wasn't that interested and doubt that it would and didn't want to waste my time.
