My dad a brother rode. I rode on the back of my dads a few time but it didn't do anything for me. Then my brother joined the army and let me borrow his bike while he was gone. I was fixing it up for him and learning to ride and that was it. I was hooked. Been riding ever since.

The oddest thing is in my case, prior to getting this bike, I had absolutely no interest in biking. I was a semi avid mountain biker but had zero interest in motorcycles. Matter of fact, I am sure I uttered words of disrespect toward scooter hooters, rocket riders, and old fuckers on Goldwings that are worth almost as much as my fully loaded truck. My brother was a scooter hooter but I had no interest. He bought his Commando back in the day and I bought my LeMans convertable. He borrowed my car enough but I never asked for him to reciprocate. But I recall thinking about two weeks into my new life, what the fuck have I been missing all my life.

Unfortunately, financially, I cannot ride near as much as I would like. Maybe that will change before I kick it.

I rode around with my dad before age 7. Then I learned to ride a friends Gixxer when I was 18. I was taken down the highway at 150mph. I loved it. Of course I thought I was invincible. Then life happened and after going to college and graduating, I took MSF and got my first bike. I instantly fell in love with long distance road trips. But strange thing was disclosed to me just a few days ago... I remember my dad's dad having a huge Honda. Probably a Goldwing, I just remember the Honda wing decals. I just found out that he rode all states including Alaska, Canadian provinces, Mexico, and Central America twice. Now I understand his wall map I would always see with hundreds of pins and strings. So maybe, for me, it's genetic destiny. :)

A friend had a CT70 when I was in 7th grade. Just had to have a bike after that. Went through a long dry spell though after high school - school, work - just didn't start riding again until later in life.

college, had a Toyota tercel to get me around. My roommate needed some wheels so he ended up getting a 92 katana 600. That was the fuel I needed to feed the flame that was smoldering since high school when I first saw ads for the 84 ninja. I maxed out what ever credit cards I had with cash advances and barrowed the rest to get a clapped out, raced 87 EX500 with FZ600 front end. That little bike took me from New York to Durham NC to see a girl I really liked then back to NY to go "clubbin" with my friends all in one day. FYI, beat up little motorcycles don't make girls panties come flying off like you would think it should. Been obsessed with the freedom 2 wheels and a motor gets you ever since then.

My old man used to plonk me on the gas tank of his old Yamaha and take me up and down the street when I was a little tacker. Been in love with two wheels ever since. Got my first bike, a ZZR-250, as a broke ass uni-student and never looked back
