Have seen a few FJRs lately although they still have quite a few BMW RTs on the road also, mind it would be more interesting if they had some Goose specials running around.
The Japanese have the technical skills but the Italians have finesse. It's an American bike, an American icon and is American like apple pie. Then their half helmets and other dress will coordinate with the bike. Image is everything! Should make them run "shorties" too. We would know where they are all the time. The big plus for motorcyclists, other than Harley riders, is that they would never be able to catch you no matter how hard they tried. But the Harley riders are a different story. mmmmmmmmmmmm Besides their training is a lot like the Japanese in the fact it's held in a parking lot. AND if you every try to run from them in a parking lot they have the skills to catch you. Your best bet is to stay on the road. I hardly ever see a leather jacket on the MC around here, it is the same outfit the normal patrol officers wear but with the crap cav boots and half helmets. So the nylon/poly blend pants and short sleeve shirts, once in a while you might see a MC wearing fingerless gloves or really thin leather dress gloves, but normaly not any hand protection. I know it is the policies that do not alow them to use gear and not personal choice most of the time, but I would rather see a MC all geared up and safe then smiling in no gear. Hell the police on the segways downtown have more gear on. If they had the choice to wear gear or not how many do you think would?
I thought I would post this picture I took outside of Maxim Honda in Allen, TX. There was a gathering of MC Cops for some event and I thought it was a great shot showing them all together. There were BMWs, Harleys and Honda ST1300 in attendance representing the Dallas suburbs of Allen, Plano and McKinney.
