A couple times I have pulled up or beside a car with lil ankle biters in it who look at you very timidly and sorta give you a little wave. Really they are never sure what will happen. When you give them a wave back you just see them burst out giggling like never before. Now what is better than making some little kid giggle like that. I my previous life on a crowded train, I would focus on the kids. (My own kids call me a tease) If you get them to laugh, and you look around at all the adults around, they all have a smile too. Most of these people are tired and most likely cranky after a long day at work. Now they have a smile on their faces. Be careful though. I asked one 4 year old how old he thought I was and he said "75"...... Well the train sure broke out on that one.

AAAARGH! I'm getting mushy. :llama::hug:Better go have a wee nip!:boozer:

Up here in Utah, we are the bad guy's no matter what

So I usually instagate the wave @ any kids that look my direction City or Highway & 99% of the time get a wave back & a smile, & often it gets carried over to the mom that ends up smiling as well.

Even though I can easily, I will "Not" wheelie in traffic or or area's of population, even just to get a kid to smile , reason is if caught by popo or just the fact you went from cool & misterious with the parents, to a idiot :soapbox: in a milli-secound.

There for the kids go from isn't he nice from the parents, to if I ever catch you near a bike I'll

Not to disappoint one of my favorite people here, (KC) but just today I had a little kid of probably 3-4 years get all excited and start waving like crazy as I slowly negotiated my way through a parking lot (on my CBR). So of course I waved back. You would have thought the kid had Superrman drop out of the sky and give him a high-five from his reaction.

Kids remember stuff. It shapes their adulthood.

...which is why I refrained from single-finger saluting the F150 driver who thought it would be a good idea to occupy my lane with me still in it yesterday- I didn't want to give the two kids in the cab looking at me a bad impression.

Now on the other hand, the left-turning side-entrancing hag on the cellphone who pulled out in front of me a half-hour after the first incident and looked up only to see me coming up on her driver door at a 90 degree angle at 30 MPH AFTER she was in the lane... WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON... well I got lots of satisfaction out of swerving past her tail and pulling a U-turn for the sole purpose of letting her know she was #1 in my book.

On an unrelated note... H&K compact USP .45's with their big trigger guard work great with gloves, and the ambi variant works well left-handed. Make sure you have the barrel crown polished so the muzzle diameter can be seen in all its glory against the flat-black slide.

(Okay, I am making a joke here people. I will proactively ask some of you sensitive types to lighten up. Besides, on a bike I only carry a P7M8.)

    Meh. Amateur.

I carry one of these: Giant Weed Torch - Lee Valley Tools

It makes a definite impression when they see the 3 foot long blue flame abd their wipers melt onto their windshield.:smile::smile:

I have a white "Hang Loose" decal on my screen and get a few kids returning that salute. Kinda neat so It is always back at them.

I wave and give a beep beep as well. When I was a kid I thought bikes were freaking cool. Now that I am an adult ( mostly ) I know they are freaking cool. Maybe someone waved at me when I was 5.

+1 on both of these. It makes their day, it makes me smile and creates some goodwill - and hopefully makes those kids want to be riders themselves someday.

I pull up on the driver's side and see if their mom is a MILF. (Not really. Well, sometimes.)

I always wave and beep the horn at kids who wave, or even just look my way. Kids get all excited over that and it's worth seeing their smiles and the glee in their eyes, and watching them excitedly tell mom or dad what just happened.

I wave or give them the peace sign. Even if I COULD do a wheelie, I would not wheelie for kids. IMHO it sends the wrong message and encourages them to go do wheelies. I would hate to think a kid got seriously hurt or worse because he saw me doing a wheelie and decided when he was old enough, the first thing he wanted to do was a wheelie...

so i take it thats NOT YOU in your avatar? doing the wheelie? and i didnt say full on wheelie..

I would like to clarify things as i am a huge advocate of safe ridng...

FYI do you think when they see us pass them on the high way that sends them a good message as well.. ( just food for thought not busting your chops indivualy ) as there are alot of us that rip though the mountain back roads and i will be honest yeah i go more than the speed limit.. by 5 or 10 mph
