What do these parts do? (Gen 3)

    glad to see our alive and kickin my friend.
    I still use bikebandit.com
    I got no sharpies. I guess thats for the best tho. LOL

    Great!
    General consensus seems to agree that these parts are simply for noise suppression from the clutch.
    (It bolts to the inside of the cover, --- so definitely not the first clutch plate, LOL)
    Another pound or so of dead weight taken off this pearl white hippo. It will join the other useless parts in the bin like the black RH inside frame cover and exhaust air injection garbage.
    My Hawk has no such contraption, so I was not able to compare to anything.

    Update:
    These parts are indeed for clutch noise suppression at idle. I re-assembled and installed the cover without those parts, and on start-up the clutch chattering was really obnoxious. Can still hear it chatter when cold and idling with the plate in, but a lot less noisy.
    Good to know for future readers.

    Geez my 1st Gen doesn't have anything like that and the clutch is quite. Must have the good one in it.:peace:
