Removed the squared off (damn prairie commuting) Michelin Pilot Road 2's and replaced them with a new set of Bridgestone Battlax T30 EVOs.

Had to do the front tire twice. I forgot to clean the inside of the rim where the bead seats .... at least I remembered to check the bead for leaks before putting it on the bike, unlike the rear tire (which I did first and DID clean the inside of the rim - took it back off and no leaks - phew!).

I was going to hold out until next week-end, but I realized that I have a very busy 2 weeks ahead of me before the trip.

It would be interesting to see the numeric curve in that area from old and new maps!

Yesterday, I installed a Powerlet outlet in my steeringstem.

I have been wanting to do it forever. Since I am forced to have to ride my bike across the country, I decided it was time.

I ordered it from Josh at Wiremybike.com

He made me a VFR specific setup and had it in the mail to me in a jiffy.

I bought one Powerlet 12v adapter and can run my GPS or charge my phone.

    I am happy.

Drained gas tank on the 1st gen, fixed leakey fuel tap and repaired fuel gauge sending unit. Apparently JB weld does not hold up in gasoline! Re-soldered little metal covers.

Since buying the new Vfr 1200 I have wanted to put on a louder muffler but the best sounding ones either come from Europe or the Usa and would cost me here in Sydney about 600 dollars and more so have decided to build my own which proved an interesting project and certainly is louder (all stainless)

Rode mine in the twisties hard and finished off that "crap for a tire" OEM rear. In spite of it being an allegedly heavy and "underpowered" bike, a VFR will turn and go. Most people can't come close to using the power it has but still want it to be a liter bike. It has enough power to get a good rider in trouble. It's the rider that limits the bike.

A bt023 rear and the same front when the current OEM wears out. The OEM front isn't as bad as the OEM rear, IMO.

Cleaned my dirty boy. Not perfect, but much improvement. Last bit of work before heading out.

I took my VFR on a store group ride today. The ride was right at 100 miles (from the store to the destination) but I put 233 miles on my VFR from the time I left my house until I got back.

This was a really good ride, as group rides go. No one got hurt. I always worry that someone will do something stupid. We ran into a few rain showers which freaks some riders out.

A few glasses of scotch, you won't be able ta shut me up. What it comes down to is he fucked up on the first set and didn't cop to it...bottom line !!. After 8 out of 9 not lines not lining up and not sealing properly, overnighting it back to him, and low a behold, after redoing the set,it took less the an hr to install, no problems.
Nice guy, worked to fix but!!! wouldn't admit he made a massive mistake. Ask him to help with the extra charges from his mistakes, and said my mechanics tech was incompetent. So it's $, replacing 15 year old lines...I'll pay the cash for my ass, bottom line.
Sad situation but, oh well. Come on, he had two stock 6 gen lines to work from, ABS and Non ABS
    Shit happens.
No blame on you D ....of course heard the bullshit, this never happened before....
Massage for an hr after 12 hr day, after three glasses of scotch since Jan 1st...getting primed for Reg's. ..sorry for the rant

Got the 86 inspected and legal, this place up the road from me doesn't see many Hondas i think. Really nice folks, and cool stuff all over the place. Let my buddy ride it there, he earned some seat time for sure for all the help.

I was in the tax office for all of 45 minutes, first trip on the bike except to get it inspected and i got an offer tucked on it.

Rode her to work tonight, really lovin the headlights so far. Nice cut off and very bright for how old they are IMO. Some supplemental lights on the forks wouldn't hurt, but i'm in no rush. My main gripe right now is the mirrors are a little short for my tastes, if they were out about an inch more on either side i would see more than just my elbows i think.
