After weeks of messing with my ST1100 (bit of an old man's bike), I got out on the VFR for a 50 minute run. Wow, I had forgotten just how much fun it is. After the ST it feels like (what I imagine) an RC30 would feel like: amazingly small and agile, and with an endless appetite for smooth revs, and brick-wall brakes. Will make sure I don't deprive myself for so long next time...

Not today, but yesterday.(and last weekend. I'm late, what can I say) I did my first valve adjustment and also changed my front brake pads. Previous owner was running mismatched and mis-aged pads in the front, one set was beat to death organics and the other set was some other material that was almost new. Good thing I thought to replace them because I have heard it can be bad to use non-organics on a non-drilled rotor due to heat and such. Additionally, I installed a 2 line oil mod on my bike because shes an old lady and she needs it. Oh, and I guess I also did a coolant flush since I drained the coolant when I did my valve adjustment.

Oh, and I changed the fuel filter which may have had upwards of 19k mi on it!

    Bike runs great now.

LOL He wanted so bad to be a part of this, he asked if he could at least sit in one. There's an age and size thing here, that and these karts do move, These Karts aren't those you find at the local fair, they'll hit 45 down the straight. and the brakes whoa!! hang on. LMAO #20 is my go fast middle son, he's a king up here in the drift ream, just has a touch when it comes to this sorta thing. That and weighs like 150. The camera was on my oldest, SMH. I was the one that spun out trying to hold the line, but the gator tipped me more than I thought it would of, whoops!!! But what a riot. Gets me going to look for a kart now.

Okay, your very lucky to be out there with your boys, I always say my Son is the mailman boy, has nothing to do with any kind of racing competition. ...guess you have it or ya don't. Dont get me wrong, I've tried, superbike racing, drags, speedway.. nothing.
Would of loved to go riding with my Son, happy memories for ever, at least for me. Selfish I know.

Finally put the 96 back together since the upper cowl stay came in. Finally not crooked anymore.

Installed some modified buell pegs to gain some clearance for my long legs. Pretty easy mod, just grind the ears down a bit and install a sleeve in the mount holes. Shifter adjusted down fine, i'm going to have to pull the brake lever off and bend it a bit i think though, that or pull off a lock nut and cut the threaded rod for more adjustment. $38 shipped for N0006.1AD FOOTPEG KIT, RIDER, XB from surdyke.com.

Went for a hill country ride with my buddy but we had to cut it short to go rescue his gf's moto guzzi that had issues at her work on female motorcycle ride day or whatever that was called...

Ended up having to drain the gas and fix an issue with the intake fuel line routing. So glad my filter and pump and everything are outside of the damn tank. Hell apparently on some guzzis you have to drop the oil pan to change the oil filter(cartridge type), what kind of DIY hating garbage is that? Craftsman ratchet set and a drain pan fit great on the back of the VFR though.

Wheeled the 86 out for some vitamin D while i was working on the carbs, waiting on some fresh o rings before i can slap it back together and try again.

Harbor freight just came out with a right angle lock on chuck, put together a setup that doesn't annoy me when i'm trying to fill up tires any more. Fits around the rotors great.
