Love that road. I used to torture rental cars up there. Wish I could go back and do it on the VFR ;-)

Starting to plan a 3 day run up AZ east side on Rte-191 up the mountains, stay in Alpine, then across to Sedona, and 3rd day back roads to home Tucson. Anyone been there and have advice?

I rode the 5 Gen over to Newport Beach to pick up something, then I gave both girls a hot soapy sponge bath...

    See, all nice and clean!

Did a run down the east side of Seneca Rocks (Smoke Hole Rd)

Not my video, set to 2x speed for what a more spirited ride might look like.

So between 1-10 how much of an improvement do you think you gained?
New shoes definitely helped I'm sure of.

Less the bling factor :) Suspension wise, Night & Day difference. Way more stable, Very planted even in a corner with a bump or dip or need to make a correction, no problem. It also feels way smoother just glides. but then bet the tires have something to do with that as well. Then add this to the dyno tune...OMG! what a fun bike. and saw 46mpg, and we weren't holding back. So between 1-10 an 8

Awe.. cool it wasn't, 77 at the 3800 level, and back down at sea level in the i5 valley it was 86 at 5pm, so yes a very sweet day it was. Now to learn how to edit Go pro footage.

She went on a long ride in Malibu yesterday, so she wasn't neglected! In fact I need to replace the tires soon.

Got the 86 vfr gas tank all cleaned up and ready to rock, finally running out of something other than a temporary gas can is awesome. Process and a few pics here: http://imgur.com/a/GbmSV

    Vid of it running:

The weather is going to be garbage all week so i figured it was a good time to pull the 96 down to do a little work on it. Put in a uni foam filter, which they had kindly assembled incorrectly with the metal screen facing up so i had to redo their work and flip it over. Ah well, it came as part of a package deal with some other parts so i can't be mad about it.

Mounting up a banshee horn setup i bought awhile ago finally, used a little CAD(cardboard assisted design) and an old license plate to mount the horn itself. I made it a slotted bracket so i wouldn't have to take those bolts all the way out. If i removed the PAIR system i could it down there, but it aint broke so i'm not touching it :p

I still need to wire the puppy up, but thanks to the rain this week i've got no problem leaving it apart for awhile and taking my time. The gas tank seems to fight coming out every single time. The metal sleeve inside the rear rubber mount loves to catch on the mount ears so i have to tap it back so it no longer interferes, i seem to forget about that every single time, maybe next time i'll learn...

Did the mufflerectomy yesterday after much research and contemplation. Followed the instructions from that other VFR website here http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/...haust-modification-muffler-bypass-pics-added/

Only did the bottom outlets on each muffler as plenty of exhaust coming out of these two and sounded loud enough for me. Has given the exhaust a far better deeper and louder note and sounds great under acceleration. Best mod for zero $$$$$s. Also Increased power to 800hp*.

(*note- this can not be verified by any scientific means )

Finally increased the fork pre-load on my 85 VF1000R, been meaning to do it for a while now. After spending a couple days on one of the 86 VFRs, then going back to the 1000R, I knew it was time. Got it done Saturday afternoon. Did all the yard work Sunday morning so I could go out for a real ride. What a beautiful day on Sunday in the Seattle area.

Caught and harassed a guy on a Aprilia RSV4 on a nice road (High Bridge) outside of Snohomish. Don't think he felt great about seeing a 30 year old VF1000R roll up next to him and his buddy at the end when they pulled off to the side at a stop sign. :)

Ended the ride down in Edmonds for a Rye Manhatten with some friends before heading home to a waiting dinner. Pretty fucking nice Sunday.
