Good lad. Those are fetching some crazy $$ these days as the customising crowd has grabbed on to them. The CX was my first real big bike test ride, and it left a lasting impression on me for the serene way that it ate the miles. I also recall struggling to hoist it off the sidestand; I'm definitely no taller, so I assume my technique or *cough* weight have improved. I think the soul of the CX lives on in my ST11000.

Thanks Terry. This one is one more saved from the CX cafe racer hacking mob. For as long as I own her she'll stay looking as original as possible. I've been looking for CX for a while and the right one with the right colour came along, also not at a crazy price.

There are some spectacularly impressive modified CX cafe racers out there, many though are a waste of a good classic motorcycle. Don't think I could ride one for very long, laying over the bike as you'd have to. My VFR is as far forward as I'm comfortable with! ;-) I guess the upside of CX mod popularity is better availability of many more parts into the future.

I'd forgotten how well the CX is at manoeuvring around at low speed too, I wonder if that's why they were so popular as a courier motorcycle. This is defiantly no lightweight. LOL.

So said I 25 years ago, AM. I still have my VFR's and a Ducati Scrambler, but for those really long rides there's nothing like a GL1800 to soak up the miles and still be up for fun at the end of the day. Being in your 60's brings changes to your perspective. :peaceful:

I will wind up with Goldwing one day. They are definitely a nice, smooth ride. Riding on back of my Dads Goldwings as a pup, those rode smoother than his Cadillac Eldorado!

Fighting the urge to get her out in the 60 degrees and sunshine. A ton of salt residue on the roads that won't work well with my new tires and sticky new chain.
    Dammit!

I don't think we got nearly the snow on this side you got over there, but the idiots here have the roads white with salt dust.

It sounds like we are going to have some rain Tuesday and Wednesday. There is hope.

I think I'll wash the VFR, that usually guarantees rain.

Between Rain storms, put new PR4 on the front of the 8th gen and changed the oil & filter.

Replaced all the black anodize allen cap bolts I put on the 83 with stainless, they all rusted badly over the winter. Looked nice at the time!

Well haven't done it all quite yet, but I did order and receive my ABBA Skylift stand with the "Pro" package. Essentially it's a kit with the pins that fit about 350+ bikes! Since I have 3 bikes and looks like I'll have the 01 up on "stilts" for a while, I figured I'd order this kit as it will fit all 3 bikes of mine, plus some of my friends bikes that I help service!

Looks great, I have the small lift, just used it for the oil change and new front tire. Now if it would just stop raining!

Topped off the tire pressure, checked the oil, filled up the tank, and rode the crap out of it. Only a couple hundred miles, but it went by rather quickly. :biggrin-new: I even went through Garden of The Gods in the Springs, and then to Monument and back to Denver.
