Today I sprayed more high temp paint on the heat shield, but I wasn't real happy with how it looked. So, I decided to Plast-Dip it black. I know its a heat shield, but it also gets a lot of air. Time will tell. It looks great right now tho. If it doesn't work well, I'll just get it powder coated. I also took some Goof-Off to the left over wheel weight adhesive on the wheels. It's good to have all that off. I also replaced a couple of the well nuts and stainless screws that took a vacation.

Late in the game, as I did this a few days ago, but I polished my bike out with my buffer and added two coats of Klasse paint sealant and a couple of coats of really excellent Carnauba wax. It's shiny!

I'm supposed to go down to the San Diego County Recorders Office In San Marcos tomorrow, but I haven't found anyone to watch my kids while I do it. I don't want to drive my 17 MPG Explorer all the way down there. Now way.

ETA Looks like my oldest will come home from school early. Let's see when I get back.

Much needed time alone with the mistress.

Annual plug change. Clean and adjust chain. Fluids check. Wash, blow dry and wax. Ogled.
If you need a pic, look at the calendar.

Let's see I replaced the stator and regulator on my '99 along with an oil change. Ready to ride but the weather in CO is not cooperating.

Worked some more on the 87 rebuild. I am woo excited to own this bike! I started it and let it run for a while to burn a little gas...man these things sound bad ass!!! It seems 4-5000 RPM they really roar... Can't wait to take it out. C'mon spring!!!!

Removed the battery & hook it to a Battery Tender Jr...
And a question for Mr. Musashi: how difficult was it to remove change the stator?

On the new to me 84 VF1000R I did a heap of work in the last couple of of days.
Pulled the forks and steering stem off to check and regrease the stem bearings.
Started from the unraveling the wiring to figure out what the mods do.
Replaced front disks, replaced caliper slider rubbers, will swap the badly painted gold triple clamp for a stock black one, and still have about 50 more jobs on the to do list.

Up before dawn and had a fine ride of about 450km, home before lunch. Watched the races from Phillip Island with a mate then home for dinner, then time to wash and dry my baby ready for next weekend. Hooray for long summer days![IMG]

It's easy you just need to take the bodywork off the left side, move a couple wires and hoses around a touch and take the case cover off, unplug it from the wiring harness and unbolt the stator.
