A warm dry wind is all that breaks the silence,
The highways quiet scars across the land.
People lie, eyes closed, no longer dreaming,
    The earth dies screaming.
Like scattered pebbles, cars lie silent waiting,
Oil less engines seized by dirt and sand.
Bodies hanging limp, no longer bleeding,
    The earth dies screaming.
    The earth dies screaming
    The earth dies screaming
Your country needs you, lets strike up the band.

    Thanks for this.
I earned a bachelors degree with a minor in music, and it is refreshing to listen to a trained voice, and to Classical music as a respite to the breathy and poorly trained pop-artists of the day.
Obviously not everyone's cup of tea. Music tends to be an acquired taste, so we like what we have been exposed to, what our friends like, or what we have been challenged to preform. So maybe if you had piano lessons when you were younger you can appreciate the accompaniment, or if you have attempted to record your own vocal self you can appreciate the range and precision of the soloist.
I tend to be critical of most of the popular vocal artists today because they have no background in classical training and it shows when they cannot hit the notes that they are aiming for, or when they breath in the middle of a phrase or worse yet in the middle of a word!

Wow just heard this and opened up a chest full of memories, mostly of my dear Sister long gone.
