    Holy effing drum solo!!!!
    Soooo awesome!
I'd say he has some power behind his sticks!

And yeah, so many genres but what do you do. I love the music for the music. All genres included.

Ummm...yeah...I don't teach my students inappropriate stuff or indoctrinational agendas. Unless the Golden Rule is considered be as much.

You taught 8th grade? Fellow educator you are? Nice!

Perfecto!! When I listen to music like this, I find myself going a bit faster than posted speed...especially on a road that fits the tempo.

I always ride with music. Makes hours seem like minutes. :)

Unfortunatley what is being taught to kids is decided by those who have influence and agendas that include not only coveting their neighbors asses but using same. Wait till the vids come out..

Yep.. Math, English and Geography all in inner city schools. That plus 10+ years training various aircrew personnel in high altitude flight both in the USAF and NASA MSC.

Buddy Rich was. in the music business, what is known as a "monster".

For more of Buddy Rich go to Utube. He was playing drums for a living at five.. A couple of other legendary jazz drummers were Gene Krupa who at first did not read music, Louie Bellson and Joe Morello. Also see Buddy Rich on the subject of stick use and grip. He points out that the timpani and vibraphone grips are fine for those instruments are fine but limited for trap sets. Even some of the legendary rock drummers do not regularly use the timpani grip chiefly Ginger Baker, Charlie Watts and if ya look carefully on some footage even Ringo..Even further back drummers for groups like Muddy Waters the drummers were schooled musicians. There are some to whom this gift comes naturally. Not as many as is portrayed on the tube or imagined by fans.

The military and NASA stuff was easy.. Carrot and stick. If ya don't pass, ya don't fly and that's pesos out of your pocket. Also, if ya don't pass you could die. This included four star generals to slick sleeves. Eighth graders are a whole nother breed. Aboot half of them should be put in gunny sacks and dropped off a bridge into a river full of alligators.

Those vids depicting natural reproduction are already out there and the other type are too. Consenting adults is one thing. The other is not, and woe to the asshole who tries to convince me otherwise.

All those guys are consummate pros. To get an idea of how versatile and really good they are or had to be, the edited bios tell the story. Some played their almost entirely with one or two ensembles. Joe Morello with Brubeck for years and 60 albums. Morello was legally blind. He performed on violin with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at age nine..Switched to drums and the rest as they say is history.

A couple that Peart missed are Jack DeJohnette who plays with Keith Jarrett and Paul Motian who was a top drummer for hire in NYC who even appeared on an Arlo Guthrie album. Another larger than life drummer missed was Louie Bellson.

I have seen Kinescopes of old Lawrence Welk shows that were broadcast on KTLA and can spot guys in the reed and horn sections that played with Stan Kenton and Miles.. Pros play music even shitkicker stuff..;) Probably not too much rap. Too much chance of getting whacked...

    Cheers..

I saw an interview with Pert about the album years ago. He didn't even want to be on the album, just produce it but the other drummers insisted he should. I know he asked a lot of other people to drum (can't remember the names) but prior commitments and health issues were a common issue.
On volume 2 there are some of the guys you mentioned BB. Morello and Gad along with a cut from Rich himself.

I was lucky to see Billy Cobhman in a small venue in NYC a long time ago. He was older but still just amazing.

Just think, if we didn't have Thomas Edison, Harley and Davidson and Donald Trump none of this would have been possible. ;)

Morello is on there for sure. I was just pointing out that he was an immense and gifted talent.

Lots of other drummers not mentioned but worthy of mention in spades, Lionel Hampton, Shelly Manne, Victor Feldman, Red Norvo, Joe Jones, Connie Kay, Dee Barton and the great Jeff Hamilton.

Maybe time for a Volume III.

I listen to all these players and others but never on the bikes, I have access to a phone but it stays home, no comm device, no laptop, no tablet ect. I have a go bag for long distance outings that has a small AM/FM radio in it that stays in my tank bag until I stop someplace and a trusty radar detector that lights up an LED when the gendarmes light me up.

    Old school? Maybe so..

Is the Roxy in downtown LA? I think that's the same theater where the New Follies was for years.

THIS! I looked for helmet speakers, earbuds and other. I thought it would be so cool to listen to some tunes going down the road. Got some good sounding earbuds that fit perfectly and comfortably under helmet and took off riding. Used ONE TIME. I missed the hum of the engine, the changing of the gears, the VTEC opening up and sounds of my surroundings. Not to say that I would not listen to music on a long trip in the future but give me the V4 for now.
