I havent heard anything back from anyone that they are not going out. I'm still planning on going up to sheetz. If no one shows, I'm still going to head out and log a few miles. I'll just throw my frog togs in my backpack.

WTF happened there? Is that 211?

    Matt,

I passed you guys later in the day I believe going the other direction. I only saw 2 R6 and an older red VFR. SO I assumed it was you guys.

yeah its 211. i cant say for sure, i was leading. but the guy lowsided somehow (mostly inexperience i think, probably braked in the turn). you know that first tight decreasing radius right turn going up? thats where he went down. messed up his shoulder and collarbone pretty bad. we didnt find out if it was broken or not, we left after they took x rays.

Well no offense, but if the guy was inexperienced that is no place for a beginner to be riding, then again that first left hander going up from the east side has rumble strips, and about a 1k signs that say slow down motorcylists "HIGH CRASH AREA" or something like that. I hope the guy is ok. That is a pretty simple turn though, I am surprised somebody would pucker up and overbrake.

That sucks Jay! Hope the dude is alright.

Our ride was pretty smooth. Before lunch some of the roads were still a little damp. We stopped in middleburg and had lunch. Me and one other ride broke off from the group and did another loop around marshal. After lunch the roads were almost perfect. It was a good ride all together. Very chill.

Glockem- Our group had three 09 r6, one 929, one gsxr1k with half fairing and dirt bike bars, and my old tired vfr.

    C-ville rides?

Im new to the C-ville area. I read a few months ago that the law enforcement is very strict in VA compared to where I have done most of my riding, and I'm not interested in getting anymore speeding tickets. Anybody feel like showing me around?
Im still getting used to my VFR, but I've been riding for 12+ years now.

Maybe we can meet up one weekend and ride. I'm not that far from you. We could meet up around Lynchburg and hit the Parkway!

I'd like to hook up with you guys some weekend. I ride past that Sheetz in Haymarket a couple of times a week. Did the battlefields, Orange, Culpeper, Brandy Station loop this past Sunday. I ride a '96 VFR, slightly battered (the bike, not me) that will be getting a new back tire today. I'll start watching this thread for the next planned ride.

Roanoke is a long way from C-ville, but I might be up for the ride next month.
I'd also like to hook up with some local riders that can show me some of the less patrolled, fast twisty roads around here. You know, the ones without driveways and blind intersections. Preferably 55mph speed limits and 40mph corners... I'm dreaming again arent I?

Not at all. Lots of roads like that south and west of Warrenton. Get down around Culpeper and Orange and you can get lost on roads like you describe all day. Lots of battlefields and historical stuff to see, rolling farmlands, and most every biker waves (even the Harley crowd). Used to live in Centreville in the early '90s. Went back recently and didn't recognize it.

Have you ridden that section of the blueridge before? Its been too long for me to remember what the driving time is.
If I can do it in a day I could meet up with you next week. It would have to be a week day.
