    Understood your feeling.
Even myself, 15years ago, having a mobile phone is something luxury here. 10years ago, I 've never though of having my own car this time...
Now it is totally different, US and EU facing with economic issues, but there are more and more luxury stuff coming into Vietnam, even though the road condition has not good enough to catch up.

Let's divert a little bit to prove my above comments - photos below is a meet of some of many super cars in Vietnam:

    Hi Viethorse,

The road in your pictures look great. I'm glad to see that transportation infrastructure is improving. Has the main north-south highway (was it Hwy 41? I forgot...) been improved? I took a bus from Ninh Binh (a few hours south of Hanoi) to Hue, and it was in rough shape...we couldn't get above 40 km / hr. The train service was good as I recall...I took the train from Hue to Ho Chi Min City.

I loved my short time in Vietnam, I'm glad that people are doing better, and I hope that the majority of the population are starting to benfit from the improved situation.

The main national N-S hwy is 1A. It s now quite good, except somewhere just been damaged by flooding. Max allowable speed for cars there is 80km/h.

Now we back to the place we were trying to find some falling pieces from UARS...
We could not find any. But we found a damn crazy thing down here:

    Here it is:

No wonder that why this one has been taken so many photos:

17-A6 is the registration number of Thai Binh - my homeland - at the north of Vietnam (just beside Nam Dinh, where Billygoat has been there.
