    Jason
How far from Drewl's hous to Tahoe? WTH is it matter another 60 miles!!!!!!!
I am open, Go with the flow. But I think Tahoe is still much better. I am sure a bunch of us can crash in the motel.

Yes Tahoe is MUCH nicer than Susanville. I am 1 hour from Reno, 2 from Tahoe.

It was just an idea. I was thinking maybe(if it were to be here) we could do a Reno day. I know a fun way into town, lots to do in Reno, nice food and such.

    Just an idea.

Hot August Nights kicks off 8/1 in Reno/Sparks. Personally, I avoid Reno during this time. Traffic hell and gang bangers take over downtown. The event has dramatically changed over the last 10-15 years, not what it used to be.

well, you guys could ride up to my place and sleep then we could all ride out the next day. I'm pretty sure Brian is going to want to go also. I just need to figure out dates... Since my vacation plans are gone, that opens up a whole week I had blocked off to go to Italy. I can't remember the exact dates, though. I'm gonna look at what time i'm off tomorrow at work...

I am not sure how to handle 600 mile trip, The longest trip I took is about 200 miles one way. I will coordinate with Jason and the boys from SanDiego to figure out where to crash (Reg or Drewl) house. I can not wait for the trip

With no offense to drewl and his home, I prefer Tahoe. I understand Hot August Nights is that weekend so maybe changing it to the weekend before in July or 2nd week in August to avoid the :TOILET: will be better. Yes it's only another 100 miles from my place to drewl's compared to Tahoe but the route is immensely different; Tahoe is curvy and beautiful, Susanville would be 200 plus miles of slab :puke:. It wouldn't be difficult to change my vacation but I would have to make the change very soon before someone gets wind of what I'm doing to puts their vacation on the dates I want. (Yes I actually have some :asshat: in my office who does this! They use their seniority to selfishly screw everyone else...)

I'm with Surfer on this for sure, and nothing against Drewl or Susanville, but you're talking totally different geography and scenery. That being said, I'd still be interested if it's Susanville, just not my preference. It's soundiing like my vacation plans will interfere anyway with the dates being settled upon, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Honestly it seems like the dates that work best for the most people are either the first weekend, or that of the 23rd.... and honestly for me at least, the 23rd is MUCH better

Between the two, I'd prefer Tahoe—although, I haven't motorcycled the Susanville/Lassen area. Since I'm not traveling far because I'm in the Bay Area, I'm looking forward to putting in carving miles. If I were traveling 600 miles to get to a destination, I'd probably want to take it easy and enjoy the destination since I'd have another 600 miles to get home.

I could head to Tahoe via Susanville. All that said I'd still like to do either (Tahoe or Susanville) and will go with whatever the group decides.

EDIT: checked out plans with wife and I am available from July 25th - Aug 4th... She is working the mid state fair for some extra cash so I can ride solo and spend the extra cash on strippers and booze! yeehaw! Now, you guys figure out when you want to do what. I meet whereever as long as I get home by the 4th.

Hmmm, My nieghbor has been bugging me about going to Lake Tahoe since I sold him my Prestine 85 Canada model Sabre.

So If not on a Race weekend, (My shedule is in my truck @ the track - I'm racing this weekend) I'm game !

"BUT" Daughter took the '04 VFR to PHX to live & You all would have to put up with my Turned up nose -Triumph ST

To bad wasn't set up sooner to meet for R2SL (Racing to save lives) childrens Charity event @ MMP in Utah, cheapest track day you'll ever get with a # 1 rated in the world track4th of July weekend & Track costs being donated to good cause.

    p.s.

San Dieago Riders, just Slab up 15 to barstow, cut across 58W to 395N to just B-4 Carson City cut across (forgot the fun Highay #) to Tahoe.

Much more scenic than Slabing 5 up & cutting over

If Hot, I can direct you ways to stay cool

I cross from Utah To SoCal & Back to SLC Utah almost every month(1500 miles) that include the 118 plus Temps Vegas on up & never over heated me or the bike .

We not sure which direction we will take. Still working on the date and place. So far Tahoe is on for most of the members.

    Hey WestCoasters!
The location seems to be debateable...I do not care either way. I will not be offended if the majority want Tahoe.

An Issue at the moment is the date.
I need to know a.s.a.p. so I can schedule it off. Any day in August is open right now. But that can change if not decided soon. No dates in july are available at Chez Drewlui.

So the point is, VFR Worlders, Tell me 'when' now, and then we will work on the 'where'.

    ****ATTENTION EVERYONE - UPDATE****

Now we've tried to make this on the best weekend for EVERYONE, but of course not everyone can be accommodated, sorry.

Dates: August, Thursday the 21st through Tuesday the 26th

Thursday: Ride in to Drewl's house in Susanville, CA
    Friday - Saturday: Ride
Saturday NIGHT, Sunday - Monday: Relax - staying in Reno at Fitzgeralds Casino. You are welcome to stay at other places, but it would be cool to keep us together.
    Tuesday - Ride home

Now, this is actually a pretty diplomatic plan. The ride down is shorter for the NW people, but the rode home is shorter for the SoCal people. If you can't stay the whole time that is ok! You can choose what you would rather do more with the group - ride or relax.

As far as staying at Drewl's house, 8 people can stay there first come first served. Please let him know as soon as possible if you would like to stay there.

Please post up if you can do this, lets get those hotel rooms booked!
