VFRW 2010 Kootenay Tour "The Best of BC"

We won't be going directly to Nelson on day 2. You can meet us at the Balfour Ferry in the morning to head south on Hwy 3a or meet us in Whynndel when we arrive. We will be turning around there to head back up north again on our way to Vernon. When we get closer be sure to leave your phone number with one of us so we can get a hold of you. Feel free to come up to Ainsworth and have a beer with us on the night of Day 1 if you have time.

I will be comming from lethbridge, ab on the 17th an hope to meet with you guys at the hiway juncture south of salmo, where 3/3b joins the 6. As we will be leaving early in the morning we hope to meet you guys by 6pm ish. if you have a guestimate of when you hope to be passing there then we can try to be there. if things go worng we will just get up to ainsworth and meet you there. this spot is only 103kms (61miles) from ainsworth where you have to meet the 3b the first time going north out of the US.

I dont have a chatterbox system, so it will be deaf running for us, I will be riding two-up on a RWB 07 vfr800 so i wont be hard to spot. we will have our cheap motorola units and if anybody wishes to act as dispatch then i will bring a spare.

as for age.... well im mid twenties and my GF is younger, but I am not a road crayon and wont be doing anything to piss off my GF.

 

ZEN I think 6pm may be a good estimate, being at the end of day 1 though who knows what time we'll really get there. It's an 11hr riding day, with the inclusion ff lunch and a bunch of stops we'll hit 13hrs or so. But then the 11hrs is GPS calculated time which we can usually minus 10% or so. The best thing is for you to give us your phone number so we can phone or text you when we're an hour or so out. Since it looks like were going to have a few people meeting at a few different spots were going to need to sort something out. Also like you said we'll be in Ainsworth for sure that evening so we can always meet over dinner and beers.

So my wife and I are both in for this. I will be bringing the baby VFR most likely. My wife will be riding her CBRF4i. We will come over to the mainland on the 16th and stay at a friends in Van and could meet first thing on the 17th. Who will be coming from Van and is there somewhere to meet up before heading to Abbotsford. Haven't called for rooms yet but will get on that.

Hi Squamish. There are still rooms available there to book. I think it's best for people to continue to book their own rooms. I have 2 extra rooms right now that I will hold for any last minute needs. If there are not needed - I'll cancel within the 2 day prior requirement. Better to have too many and release, then to be scrambling last minute in peak season.

 

Good reminder for all those who recently joined up, don't forget to book day 1 as well, space was limited.

 

I am in! Got rooms in both hotels, but Ainsworth has nobody under "VFR World" (they have VF World and VS World though, so I figure you guys were all liquored up when you called), and nobody whose last name is Smith.

Got it done, booked a double right next to yours. I have invited two buddies, one with a Duc and one with a '90 VFR chances are only one will show, but if no commitment by say July 1 then I would welcome a room mate. Will post that for sure.

Everyone within 1000mi should go on this trip,living in Kamloops this is motorcycle heaven ,some of the best in northamerica,but iam getting married that weekend so iam out(it was a tough choice-new wife-motorcycling ,just kidding dear)
