    Hey kids.
ive got some damage on my LCD Display
Im wondering if the LCD display on my 1998 VFR800fi is a replaceable part.
or will have to buy a generic LCD display and solder it on.

    Hi Gordon.
Do a search for LCD Polarizing Film, there's lots out there.
You might be able to remove/unstick the front film and replace it. Haven't done it but it would be worth a try

    Good Luck

What is the issue? I just dismantled my LCD unit. The display unit itself is attached to the board by 4 tabs that are bent to keep it in place. The connections to the board are on either side - they look like rectangular blocks of white foam connecting contacts on the board with contacts on the display. I found small traces of corrosion between these contact blocks and the board. Quick clean - back to good display. Hope this helps if you haven't purchased another already.
And BTW - I just found out that they CAN be switched from miles to km and visa versa.
