Aaaaggghhh!!! You beat me to this paint job.

Did you rattle can it? Is there a clear coat?

I have been planning to do a similar paint scheme to my sixth gen this winter. I'm wanting to do an olive drab with clear coat. Am also wanting to make the rims orange. Decals would also be stenciled on with white or matching orange paint using a crackle effect. I would also get a orange LED fairing light kit.

    Here's an idea:

Sounds like a good plan to me. I seem to have started from the other end.

It does not have a clear coat. I only bought two component NATO RAL6013 matte green acrylic paint from the paint shop and a paint pistol to paint with. It does have an undercoat. I did 2 layers of green, if you do more it will not be as matte looking.

Good job on fixing the dented tank. Kind of wondered which "Army" green was used.. The bike looks better with the clear windscreen IMO. This breaks up a large monochromatic color mass that was a little overwhelming.

Good thinking that every paintjob on a bike does not have to be shiney. The color is Olive Drab..

    Some bright orange wheels maybe??

Only a few weeks of riding season left here in Estonia. So won´t do anything else this year. However for the next one I am planning maybe a Power Commander install.

Since I have a 98 model without the O2 Sensors (I haven´t atleast seen any on the exhaust) then I understand I can use pretty much any PC3 Serial/Usb to PC5 unit that fits a VFR800, correct? And the existance of O2 plugs is not a matter on my case.

If Power Commander does not use the value of the O2 sensors, then how does it measure the output? It doesn´t? As I udnerstand at the moment it only takes and modifies values for air intake and fuel injection, correct?

P.S. If anyone would have a PC for VFR800 to sell, then I am your man!

I understood that PC still enables better low RPM response, no?

Yes it does. Really helps smooth out the low speed operation. IMO anyway.

The PC III doesn't need or read the O2 sensors, that is why dummy 330 ohm resistors are used to fool the ECU, the PC III provides the correct mapping without the O2 sensors. I was one the first thing I did to smooth out my '03.
