2004 vfr bone stock, with k&n, but only took it to 135 as indicated on the speedo. After that, decided to slow down. Felt pretty smooth for such a high speed.

I have two GT750s; one stocker and the Blue cafe-racer. I love them. I think I got the stocker in 2001 (was it that long ago????......), and built the other from two junkers about two years later.

I have a 2007 VFR and I just hit 126 mph today. Smooth as can be, too. It was awesome...though, I don't know if I'll try much more than that.

Best I've ever done on my 2003 is 135 and change. I saw 135 go by for a brief second when I took at quick glance at the speedo, I was still increasing speed but cut it back quickly after that. The engine had more to give but I wasn't ready to go further.

I've done 155 in my old 2002 Acura TL Type S which was comptech supercharged and that was pretty cool and I've done 160 plus driving a stock car on the Las Vegas motor speedway which was awesome, but neither of those runs got by heart pounding like rolling on the throttle of the VFR to 130 plus. It just gets there in a hurry.

I have had my 1994 VFR about 140mph several times. Its amazing how the bike feels so stable at such a high speed. I have owed older CBR's that did not feel as stable as the old VFR. I do not recommend theses speed and if you do attempt high speeds always do it on an open stretch of road were there is no wild life and driveways. A long road over a body of water is a safe bet.

Routinely hit 140 indicated (but I think the speedo runs way high) and the bike has more in it but I have some suspension issues that need to be fixed before I pin and hold it for any length of time. My Fireblade even more routinely is taken to 160 indicated (again probabaly a bit high) and it's a doddle.

I am never really nervous abouit those speeds as I do it all the time and cops (at least here in AL USA) won't chase you. It's fun and exhilirating.

Doesn't matter if the speedo is digital or analog they are almost always off on almost any bike by between 5 and 10 mph. Someone said one of the mags got one to 147mph observed (radar gun) and they usually correct that mathematically to account for wind, etc. Aslo if you have made any chages to the sprocket sizes your speedo will be quite wrong. I know the 1998 VFR I have has a very optimistic speedo.

    Cheers

OK, I just beat my own personal high speed three days ago. 135 for a split second....the motor had a bit more, too. Kinda makes me wonder...:flame:

I was out for a ride when a guy on a Yamaha R-1 pulled along side and wanted to go. I gave chase,he left me like I was parked, and before I knew it my speedo read 143 which on a Sixth generation would be 129 mph. The bike was totally smooth and had more left and I never gone that fast since.

I know there is some difference between a VFR Speedo and what is actual. My ZUMO GPS unit currently shows a top speed of 137. The VFR would have been showing at least 150 but I was not looking, I let the GPS keep track for me.
I took a t trip down Route 95 from DC last weekend and was going about 90 and cars were passing me by. SO, I am used to breaking into the three digits.

I am in need of some new tires so don't wan't want to push her to far yet, I had my GSXR 750 up to bout 160, I did have the VFR up to 130 in 5th gear with NO problem. When I get the new skins on I will spread her wings, and let her fly.

I got up to 137 last weekend before I even knew what was happening. As soon as I noticed I was traveling that fast I eased off. Suprisingly there seemed to be much more if I had been willing to push it. What amazes me most is that a bike of this age is so smooth and controlled even at high speed. Wish I had discovered one of these years ago:wink: :bolt:

My 91 was clocked at 375 mph. This was just after I climbed Mt. Everest on a pogo stick back in 87.
