Today I was scuffing-in my new tires (Shinkos) and I did this on a back road. It was still climbing, but I ran out of straight road.

Remember, I have no fairings on my bike......

By the way, the Shinko tires feel great, and I didn't even balance them.

For a stock '07, I know that 125 comes pretty quick. For this bike I have 'read' that 150 is about tops, and I can see that being pretty realistic. For the record, this is hear-say.
A quick edit - this is indicated mph.

Last summer, passing traffic on a 2 lane. Got behind a long line of grain trucks and cars that weren't going to pass. Got around about half of them and had to tuck in for oncoming. When it got clear again I got out and nailed it. Indicated was about 130 after letting off. That is the fastest I have had it and probably will stay that way unless I get into track days.
Don't know how much the speedo is off and don't care. This was plenty fast on a public road. Plus this was just outside the county seat. I was real lucky not to run into LEO. I don't blast it alot and don't want a ticket.

    Lane,

Can you do a tire review of these? I'm seriously considering some... money is tight and I'd be willing to try them out.

I frequent the twisties and ride hard... not hard enough to get a knee down (no sliders), but very close...

I hit ~140+ on my 1990 VFR in 1993. It had a 2 Bros. left pipe and a jet kit. But I think the stickers gave me an extra 5-10 MPH.

I've only had my 2005 since the beginning of winter... I know it's seen at LEAST 85 MPH. Frankly, I'm usually going to or from work and I'm waiting for some spring/summer/fall rides to open her up and see what she'll do. Though, thoughts of the wife and fam will probably keep me under 130... Hell, who am I kidding, I probably haven't even hit the VTEC roar more than a dozen times.

It doesn't. That's sitting in the driveway after I got home. The display is "Max speed since last reset". Any more questions?

I haven't ridden them very hard or very far yet, but my impressions, so far, are very good. I think they would satisfy most riders, but probably not the really fast guys.

    How Fast?

Well about 18 years ago I had my 1985, 500cc Interceptor to about 135mph and I felt somthing called a rev limitor kick in. I was trying to keep up with my older friends who were on Gixers & Ninjas over 900cc's. they were very suprised I stayed not too far behind. Almost 20 years later (about 6 months ago) I had my 2003 VFR Interceptor to 155 I know this to be true because of my digital speedo. I did not feel any rev limitor this time, but because of somthing I never seen before (The lines on the freeway became one continuous line) I backed off and came back down. BIGEST RUSH OF MY LIFE! So to answer your very good question, 155mph. But I do believe they can go faster. I wonder if any one else reading this, can answer his very good question AND do the new vfr's have a rev limitor like the old ones?.......LVVFR.

If Cycle worlds test clocked 147, were they using a gps and if they were then I guess our speedos are wrong because mine read 155. Others have said they went 160 or better. I dont know if those statements are true for a stock gen 6 bike, unless gearing was changed. Others have said that top speed was 145, I believe the truth is somewhere in the middle.
