That would be fun! I would like to see what my CBR 1k could do in a mile geared high. I don't think I would do top end runs on my VFR though. Are you going? How far is that from Mid Ohio?

I have done 2 track days at Mid Ohio, they were the first road coarse track days I had ever done that had blind turns. I previously had only done tracks in Florida with no elevation (other than the banking at Homestead International). Since then I've done 4 days at Barber, getting better at the elevation thing.

A stock 98 VFR800 has a verified top speed of 155mph, that's with the standard 95whp output. I'm hoping my 120whp version would manage 165mph or a smidge more.
If it picks up some extra HP from ramair effect then it should be good for that speed & maybe 170mph, depends how slippy I could make myself or higher a midget !

You can use the calculator here http://www.wallaceracing.com/Calculate HP For Speed.php I use 4sq ft with 0.9cd & 650lb weight should include the rider ! to estimate 95hp required for 155mph.

Do you have a link for a calculator for wind resistance and Hp required? The faster you go the more it takes to get small gains, you start hitting the wall. Its crazy how much more hp it takes to go from 200 to 205 for instance. It would be interesting to play with something like that but probably very complicated to figure out the aerodynamics and resistance. Probably some crazy square inch/angle of deflection formula required that goes well beyond my math pay grade. lol

Did you look at that calculator ? It does all that for you, all you need is the sq/ft frontal area, the weight & the drag CD (which is an air resistance constant applied to speed). if you know the HP of a vehicle or know the recorded true top speed, you can reverse engineer the result to get to base line, then factor in your planned HP increase & see what the results might be. That is what I did, find a calc that gave 95HP required for the 155mph speed, then use the same criteria & add my intended top speed, until I exceed the 120hp I have !

Great stats on the Blackbird. The Honda test track is close to where the SR71 (YAF12) (s) were hangered. The stats are probably accurate but do they reflect accurately what the average dude can expect from his Blackbird, ZX, Hayabusa?
The dudes at Honda if they wanted to could make a Ruckus go fast enough to cause some anal negative pressure.

His is used here in the generic sense in case that becomes a part of any BS rejoinder that may occur.. Same thing for "dudes". Sometimes its hard to tell which is which anymore even with 2020 vision.

That is cool. Punching in some numbers for my CBR I should be able to go near 200 mph. But I know that is not happening! lol

Been using Wallace Racing calc's and other info for years. He's a big Pontiac guy. That's how I know of him and meeting him at Norwalk. His calc's are good and will get you in to the ball park and some real close. Most good calc's are just that a guesstimate tool AFAIC. He even gives some variables such as:

" Adjust the figure obtained above for areas not included, such as top rounded corners, etc. Typical adjusting values are 85 percent for cars, 70 percent for motorcycles, and 100 percent for trucks."

The only way to know for sure is to try it and run it.

    Couple of things for GATOR,

My 12, 7th Gen was the MULE for the Dyno Jet Map, I have an installed PCV with a BZAAZ chip, and a 2 bro Slip on. Almost 158 HP at the wheel and 89 TQ....

I have seen 132 on the back straight at the LVMS Classic couse, and have run 10.89@132 as well, on the 1/4 mile same location.

The Other VFR site has a pretty long chain on the reflate and its results....

A lot of folks have had the red lash done by Guhl with great results....7th Gen is ECU limited to 157 w/o it....its a subtle limiter, but definetly there. Unrestricted I could easily see 175, the mile courses have enough room, and Bonniville has a run what you brung on their 3 mile course for 200 bucks....

140mph so far, and climbing, but ran out of road. I don't know if it will make 150 but 145 is realistic, some day we'll see. 2Bros slipon, KN filter, 18t front sprocket.
