AFAIK they don't have a speed limiter, just a rev limiter. Speedometer was probably at least 20% high, just a WAG, so that would put you around 150 mph. Pretty good clip neertheless.

Yes there is definitely no speed limiter, but I watched a video of a 2007 vfr800 on a dyno, and it hit the rev limiter at 178 in 6th gear.

That was a while ago, so maybe I mixed it up and that could have been 178 real mph and not indicated (factory gearing).

So that is why I was so surprised to see my VFR climb well into the 180s, even though I am sprocketed to the sky lol...

Lol I haven't even touched the rev lit extension, but guess what... The new rapid bike racing has dual mapping and self tuning. Can you say NOSSSS???!! Lol

There are some youtube videos out there of 6th gens with 260-275 kmh on the speedo. 160-170 ish according to online conversion calculators. Never would've thought that.

Speedometer readings mean just about zip. If they're stock they're off by around 7%, which if they're showing 160 mph actually is about 150, which is still not bad. But if they are running shorter gearing than stock, and have uncorrected speedo, 160 mph is probably closer to 140 mph. Nothing overly spectacular.

One of the magazines stated aerodynamically limited to 156 on an '08. FWIW

I would like to see what one of the super charged ones would do at the top..........

I know it has been said here many times but It's one thing to indicate 160 and quite another to be going 160. I think that with a 5%-7% speedo error you would be actually going 150ish and that seems more reasonable on a VFR 5th or 6th gen unless you have a Supercharger in which case all bets are off.

Thats what I would have thought. Not so much about actual number but more about being aerodynamically or drag limited. Even with a supercharger & stupid tall gearing I would think changes in bodywork would have to made to achieve terminal velocity. In either case both bikes pull painfully slow after about 10k on the tach. Would be nice to what the actual speed is verified with radar, laser or GPS.

There's a reason we don't hear from supercharged guys on this.

They either eat motors, or eat clutches if they boost for too long. Otherwise I'm certain we'd have heard about it.

You've all seen youtube wheelie here, wheelie there, then WAAAPWAPWAPWAP in 3-rd or 4th because the clutch was barely hanging in to begin with.

11 low @ 130 at the strip, for this very reason. they should be trapping into the 140's. 144. 146. it's still slipping, it's just not completely pushing past the clutch, yet, in all the videos seen.
