RC51 with speedo healer indicated 189, radar 172
'05 VFR with '86 HRC1000 motor, speedo disconected, radar 166

Bonniville Salt Flats 162.582 on the RC51 because clutch let go & didn't fix in time to run again:mad:

    Road/Highway
    '04 VFR I 80 between Wendover & Reno indicated 176 GPS 152
    '06 Triumph Sprint I-80 Between Wendover & Reno indicated 182 GPS 164

Longest cruising @ high speed, the Triumph for 45 plus minutes GPS between 130 -145 between Reno & Wendover

Worst ticket 186 plus (didn't know I was being chased & pulled away from CHP helicopter:eek: ) between Desert Center, CA. & Parker, AZ.(caught me @ a liquer store b-4 AZ side walking out from buying gatoraid when cars finally caught up), :frusty: = weekend in jail & about 10 g's for lawyer & reduced charges/fines.

Note, even with speedo healer, dialed in as best as possible still will read in -accurate @ high speeds

2 people were killed here in my home town about a week ago. I can't figure out exactly he did it. Somehow he caught the left rear of a semi with his right bar (throttle). This spun the bike around and he and his wife ended up UNDER the truck. SQUASHED!! He must have been flying in a 45 zone with his wife on the back. Now there are 2 little kids with no parents. :yield:

Dang, I think you just set a record for ticket here. 186, Impressive!!!!! At least they didn't take your license!!! I made be sadistic, but I'd frame that and hang it on my wall!!! I think I just got a ticket this past Friday on the autobahn in my car. Was doing 140 kmph in a just turned 100 kmph zone when I say the bright red flash. I'll know for sure in about 2 weeks...

 I use a camelback since then, & don't take a race prepped bike with a plate on a trip any more :frusty:

lawyer covinced the judge they really never clocked me, & that the Helicpter , by the pilots admittance didn't follow the road & was off to the side.
Charges with a hefty fine, was down sized to 86 in a 55 zone speeding ticket (no wreckless), & got traffic school , but had to go court order double the required amount & 12 hrs community service.
kept my Lic., & no increase on my Insurance.

That bike stayed track only after that

Thanks for your post on your excessive speed ticket, I've always wondered what the penalty would be and how much the cost, not that I would know anything about triple digits :lie:

My former teammate and have done that with our racebikes. You know, to make sure they're running ok..... We had his out for a break-in run, I had truck duty, we're letting it cool of on the side of the road (way out in the boonies, where there's never a cop) with the truck blocking the bike and who should drive up but a sheriff. He gets out and asks if everything is OK, we tell him we're just relaxing and taking a break. He walks around the truck to the bike and mentions that the bike doesn't have any mirrors, no signals and the tires are bald, and "What the hell? Your headlights are DRAWN on!" Tells us that technically he could have the bike towed, but since he didn't actally see the bike on the road, we should just load it up and take it home. Which we did, in a roundabout way. Had to get more time on the motor!

I had my "06 to 153. All stock but had to slow down. Couple of semi's in the way. Didn't feel like squeezing between them. She still had some go so I'm thinkin between 160 - 170.

I have 2nd generation ´89 model original bike and have hit 225 km (140 mph) it should do more. Honda says 235 (147 mph) I also have ´88 model and that one hit 245 km (153 something) and it has k&N air filter better pips (4in1) and bit lower gearing so it could rev out al six gears.

I get the heebie jeebies above 130 since if I get caught I get arrested, probably lose my license, definitely lose my clearance, so probably lose my job... thats a lot to lose!
.... looks like I better not stop! Or I better get on a track...

I agree that this is sometimes the case. FWIW i have verified the correction up to 125mph (prior indicated was 139, which still reflects a linear 10%). So on this bike its pretty dead nuts. I think the speedo healer is overall a good unit and in many cases makes for a more accurate display. :thumb:

Nice job getting out of that ticket btw.

I think of Darwin's theory of evolution as I imagine someone riding at over 140mph (225kph) carefully comparing the GPS speed and speedometer.... glancing back and forth to determine how fast the devices are calculating their speed.... watching the public road with their peripheral vision. As Borat says,"Very nice."

Nozzle Note: I hear the geezer alarm buzzing - warning that I sound like a geezer in this post - as I hit "Post Quick Reply"

clocked at 143mph on my 98 model and it was still pulling, I dont plan on finding out how fast my 04 will go...lesson learned, it actually dont feel as fast as the 98 was though.

I have found that doing 40+mph on a sailboard is just as much of a rush and the DNR wont lock you up.

150 mph on my 2000. Had it pinned, and as previously noted there's limiter that prevents you from going any faster.

I did note however, that the bike was rock solid and stable at that speed.

About the same here, this is not the top speed but the top speed that is easilly obtainable, it still has a bit left but acceleration was slow.

It felt really good and stable, But i slowed down mainly because i can't aford that ticket...
