She's good for much more than that, but I don't think there is any way I woulda taken mine 100 on the drive home, I'd deff want to check out a bike of that age in great detail before going much over the speed limit...

not sure how accurate it was, but a NHP cop pulled me over in the middle of a top speed attempt on a long desolate road out in the sticks, said he clocked me accelerating from 100-146mph(redline, never saw him). I got out of the ticket though, I went to high school with his kids, ended up bulls***ing with him for a good half hour. gotta love rural towns.

my bike is a stock '03.

I got 140 on a 2006 and it was still very stable, but I think it had a little more juice. My brother claims to have gotten it to 150, but couldn't get it beyond that.

That being said, I think a GPS is going to give you a more accurate number, probably 10% less than the speedometer.

130 indicated with OEM Side-Bags - and it was completely stable!!! I was suprised it didn't float or bounce.

I was wondering something. Maybe someone out there would know this. I've read up that while the Speedo's are 7~10% over there actual speed as indicated, that the Odometer's indication is spot-on! And something I've been wanting to do was to get a Speedohealer and recalibrate the speedo to the correct MPH - but the problem arises, and from what I've been told, is that the Odometer then is incorrect!!

Anyone know a way around this by chance?

Reading this brang a smile to my face.

I owned an '04 Mach 1 for a while and gave up on it when I read an article about the fastest of the Saleen and Rousch Supercharged Mustangs not being able to beat out the Base Model Corvette  - this was about 3 years back. That did it for me - enough on the Procharger anticipation. I turned around and bought a VFR two years later :thumb:. 11.2 Stock, and that's without any Gears or any Mods. And you get so much more speed for the money you put into a Bike! Mustangs are moneypits!

    Top speed so far

I hit 163 on I81 north near Mauzy/Broadway exit heading to New Market, VA...had to let out of it cause a car in the distance cut into my lane...have had it numerous times over the 150 range doesn't even have a prob...knock on wood...but that isn't bad for an '02 vfr which just turned 40,000 miles tonight and I hit some good speed too...sitting at my house now with 40,012 miles on it now...hell yeah...

105.5 on my calibrated bike speedo. I've only had it on there a week.. seems like there was way more in there but I didn't have enough room to try for more. Besides at those speeds I think about things like my kids and the fact that I'm on a 22yr old bike.. I get nervous.. especially after my last crash. I should probably sign up for a track day :)

150 indicated continued a little faster but didn't look down. slight downhill straightaway. 07' VFR. Managed to hit a bee or some large bug, hit my helmet so hard it popped my head up a couple inches. At that point I figured best to let off before I hit a damn bird (my luck)

The fastes on my 07, was around 162 on the dash on 1-75 west bound on my way to Naples following couple of Ducatis and a Augusta, completly tuck-in and the air in our backs, 6th gear @ 11,000 RPM's for couple of miles. The bike was extremly stable but I have suspension work done and using BT002's RS tires.

So what have we learned in the last 376 posts??
    A. Even if your indacated is 160, most VFR's top out around 140 (I know - yours is different and goes faster)
    B. Well...........I guess thats it
Feel free to post more on the subject, I'm working 60 hour weeks until Dec so I'm in a crappy mood.

If it makes you feel any better, Action, my standard week is 96 hours. Four 24 hour shifts. Pay the bills, buy Christmas presents, be happy you have a job.
