I have to agree. I find the same thing. When I ride I hug the tank anyway and I do have a aftermarket screen that takes a lot of wind off. I find that when there is a cross wind, that riding ready but relaxed is the trick. Almost like when you are realaxed you are better prepared to make a correction then you are when you are tense. I find when you are tense it may take even longer to take evasive action. I have had the wind catch me off guard but so far, I am able to keep in track. I do not tense up I keep a relaxed posture and grip and all seems fine. .
I agree with Nungboy and KC. Especially KC. Similar o driving a car on washboard road. You grab onto the steering wheel too hard and fight it too much you end in the ditch Awareness and preparedness are he key and do what you can do to cut down the wind resistance. But am I the only one who gets a bit of a rush out of this? Maybe I am a bit squiddish. OMG ! I ride through the winer here and we get some prety good wind and rain storms and I haven' had any problems yet. Mind you I haven't ridden in your areas so what you get could very well be different than what I get. We do have an area here though called the Sumas Prairie which is notorious for odd winds that swirl around a 1500 ft mountain ridge which causes white out conditions with a relatively small amount of snow. JFYI I don't deliberately ride in the snow but have been caught a couple time. Gotta go. Have an appointment with my shrink.:tinfoil3:
