    Transatlantic crossing by VFR

Its just when I hit 6500rpm that I would worry - other than that, a good idea

    Let's choose sites!

:caked: Gang, Let's come up w/2 sites. While discussion is great, this post sounds like Rush Limbaugh trying to decide between OxyCotin, Loratab, or a Sausage Pizza. As spread out as we are, there has to be a East and West meet. I'll make at least one of them.

Man, you guys are getting me excited, I have been riding VFR's since 95, but been in love with them since 87 when I got a test drive. I just found this web site yesterday, and although Im in Japan right now, I live in San Diego, and Vegas Baby sounds sounds like a winner to me, I would love to ride with others who love the VFR.

    I'm with Legs,
Barber Motor Sports in Birmingham is real nice and fairly central for east coast.

There is a awesome track around Reno, which is about an hour away. I don't think there is a track in Tahoe, but Tahoe has a lot of nice secluded little Hwy. roads with big sweepers and hairpins that we will rail as fast as you want when your not at the track. I'm not sure if you have ever been to Tahoe, but scenic wise it is spectacular...

Sounds like a great idea, those roads around Lake Tahoe are amazing, I did them this summer on my way to Reno from San Fran. Those roads were made for the VFR. It's a long trip for me but I've done it before and would do it again. Depending on the time of year I would trailer my bike down and would definitely want to arrange with others in my area if they were interested to put 2 or 3 other bikes in the trailer for the trip. Any takers?

Here is a offer, trailer your bikes to the Seattle area and park your truck and trailer at my 5 acre spread, and ride down with some of the VFR riders from B.C. and Washington, I think their will be at least 4 of us from the Seattle area alone, and thats not counting the Oregon riders we hook up with on the way down...

Sounds good, Seattle is a 1 day drive if I push it. Drop off the truck, trailer and bikes and that is a great ride heading south from Seattle. Keep me posted regarding the time of year that this might happen, and if there are any riders in the Alberta or B.C area that are also interested let me know.

a regional convention/track day would be a great idea.

on the east coast, that offers Pocono, Mid Ohio, Virginia, Road Atlanta, and Barber.

I definetly agree that there should be an east/west meet. I'm in NC so Vegas or Reno is a little out of the ? for me. Although I do love the desert....

Reno-Fernley Raceway is about 1.5hrs away, nice ride there. The track is a bit bumpy, but not bad.
T-Hill is about 4 hrs, boring as hell ride out there. It's not quite as bumpy.
Both tracks have some technical parts and some very fast parts. And, not to discourage anyone, corners that will collect bikes if you're not careful.

Lots of nice roads to ride in the Tahoe area, plus it would only take me 20mins to get there! Now all I need to do is get the 1000F out of mothballs in time.

    Trying to start

Hey guys & gals...Joe & I have been chatting about an east coast get together. We found out that HSTA(Honda Sport Touring Assoc) has a really cool convention in Asheville NC in June of 2007. You have to register with them as it is an AMA sanctioned event. The President of HSTA Dave Brickner, is very excited at the thought of having several VFR's there, as this club,
25yrs ago had mostly VFR riders as members. There are GREAT hotel accomodations and camping near the hotel is also available. This is not too far from "Dragon", and there is great riding in NC. I am making plans to be there, as I think Joe will too. Check out www.ridehsta.com

This may be a start of something great for us East Coast folks.

I've known about the HSTA group for some time, even thou it's a great event, way to far my sorry ass. That said I've Been in contact in the past with them to see If I can get the group over on this side of the moutains, no luck getting in Renoas an area, I even went direct to Honda out of LA, Nope not interested. It's still a good time as it has grown to be quite the gathering, lots of going on by what I read in the News letter. So yea, I agree with you east side folks, that would be a good one to be at, or that Barber motorsport park.
