Cheers... yeah, I need ANOTHER bike like I need a hole in my head!! BUT... I couldn't NOT buy it for this (negotiated) price!! If it didn't run, OK... just part it out & sell parts on ebay. If it did run, make it a rider and try to register it (?) We'll see how the DMV title process goes. I bought a clapped-out seat on the bay so I can at least sit on it instead of steel. I'll reupholster it to make it look OEM.

Could also be a fun track day bike with some slicks!

    See ya,
    BLIGHT

What a great find BLIGHT. It's a runner and for the money, it doesn't look like it would take too much to make it road worthy. You've even got the stock rear fender and exhaust on it!

How do all, just joined the forum.

I have two VF 500 FII's both in the process of a rebuild. got both bikes for £250 one complete with mot and tax. the other stripped down.

I dunno if anyone has been on the Skidmarx website for the fairings here is the link
Skidmarx Full Front Road Fairing suitable for a Honda VF500 F2E (1984)

They do a full fairing for £249:00

I will post some pics up of my bikes as they progress soon.

Look forward to seeing the progress photos. If I could ask, could you please take a few detail photos of the fairing armature?

I'll get the camera out tomorrow. Is there anything else anyone wants photo graphing while I'm at it.
The fairings on the bike are pretty scabby but complete I'm glad to say.

Overall elevations along with closeup details of how the fairing mounts to the armature would be most appreciated!

Here you go, I have taken some shots of the fairing inside and out. The front fairing brackets and the ones that are welded to the down box sections of the frame rails.
As you can see the side panels just bold onto the upper fairing and have a lower mounting point on each side. I hope its clear in the pics. there are also some inner mounting points for the cooling ducts which force air towards the radiator etc. Honda insist these are paramount to prevent the bike from over heating. My fairing is missing these, so I will just have to see how it goes without them.

OK... it's clear I like the original VF500F2 lower fairing and upper a whole lot. But, in the interest of time, style and economics I decided to go a different way with bodywork for my old VF500's.
I cancelled my order with Nationals Fiberglass.

Please see the new topic "VFR400RR NC30 Bodywork fitted to the VF500F"
    Cheers,
    BLIGHT
