If I could ask, what is the actual width of the tire you are running?

i would say the swing arm flex's just as much as the frame & forks flex side to side but yes side wall flex can happen as well

The spec's show an actual width of 160mm.

    glamourindex

How much clearance do you have between the tire and swingarm?

Do you have the specification on the actual width?

I checked Dunlop's web site - I didn't see a D204 listed but they do have a 'Sportmax' model in a 160/60-17 that notes the width as 158.75mm - narrower than some manufacturer's 150 width tires.

I don't have the spec on the tire, but if I remember correctly it measured right about 155mm edge-to-edge.

Thank you. 155mm seems to be about the max then, without getting into the tire rubbing the swingarm.

Are your chain adjusters also turned all the way out - similar to what Slowbird is showing in his post?

There is room to spare on my bike. Not a lot, but some. Adjusters are in the middle.

Thanks for the post - Slowbird (well, actually his swingarm) really does seem to be the oddball here - no offense Slow!

None taken cities. I know I'm the odd one out. It just sucks cause there's nothing I can do.

-As it is now the chain is too long.
-Shorten the chain and the tire moves too close to the swingarm.
-16 tooth front sprocket rubs the sprocket cover
-Switching back to a 15 tooth front brings to revs too high.
-I have to start using the rear brakes less
-The center stand had to be removed
-The Chain guard had to be removed
-That nice shiny white F2 wheel gets filthy dirty after 2 minutes of riding. (no exaggeration....2 MINUTES. Brake dust and road grime)
I hope my next bike doesn't have white wheels.

Will having the rear wheel adjusted so far back effect handling or anything?

Well at the very least you have learned a lot :)

You have extended the wheelbase a bit, true, but I think you'll be okay in terms of the geometry (this is based on the previous recommendations for the front tire and the rake and trail calculations).

Have you been able to diagnose where the noise, you mentioned this in a previous post, is coming from?

    Yea...I've learned quite a bit :p

The "Whuam whuam whuam" noise that happens at steady cruising throttle?

    No clue.

Yes, that's the one. I take it that this is a new noise? Do you think it is connected - almost hate to type this - to the wheel conversion?

Well, it is not a good sound to hear but after all you have been through with your F2 wheel conversion I'm hoping this is a simple fix whatever it may be.

    Thanks.

I have a feeling it may be engine related.

Since it only happens around specific RPMs. Can't hear it when accelerating or decelerating

    BAH!

    I can't ride with a passenger!!

The rear wheel is rubbing! It never did that with the stock rear wheel and shock.

    FUCK!

Do other F2 wheel conversion owners with 150/160* tires have this issue - or is this another 'unique' characteristic to your bike?

*150/160 tire size - with the caveat that 155mm is the widest tire you can mount without clearance issues - based on previous posts.

I don't know if anyone with the F2 conversions has ridden with a passenger.

Maybe it's because the F2 shock is made with a spring set to a specific weight?

I hope that's not the case....I thought the weight I gave Jamie was an optimal performance weight...not a maximum load weight.

    ????
