It would absolutely be the shock I would buy if I was doing a YSS on a VFR, regardless of what wheels I was running. These bikes LOVE increased rear ride height.

The upper and lower mounts are the same as 86/87. Maybe Rogue can do some measuring of the mount widths on his bike to absolutely confirm this, but I am 99.9999% sure. I am willing to put my money where my mouth is, if it doesn't fit, I will buy it off of you.

It can be adjusted down to 280, the length of the stock 87 shock you were gonna put in it. And as I stated before, one 87 linkage piece away from being effectively 10mm "shorter", and back to "stock".

OK, this is the one where I went with the VF1000FII shock because it is 5mm longer. MZ456-405TRL-04
    Fit the VF1000R mounts perfect.

They list this one for the 1000R - MZ456-400TRL-08

I've been hemorrhaging cash lately and would like to know if I'm buying another shock. ;)

Really, I'd just like to know the answer for sure. If they are hard to get to, don't worry. Pretty sure I'm right tho.

OK, just to recap - Mario, you're going with the VF1000FII shock (MZ456-405TRL-04) on your VF1000R because it is 5mm longer.... and will increase the rear height?

The one for the 1000R - MZ456-400TRL-08 - will offer stock ride height?

And the MZ456-405TRL-04 can be adjusted down to stock length if you want to. No reason not to get it.

Cool. Thanks, appreciate it! Looks like we are good. I also just confirmed the 87 and 88 linkage knuckle is the same part.

Straycat.... I would give my left leg to borrow that full Hindle exhaust and have the guys in Toronto re-make that again like they did for the stainless VFR750 unit....
