Busy thread, interesting info; but, where is our resident gear-head/racer/VFR tuner extraordinaire, NorcalBoy in all this fun?

Given he knows about as much as anyone has a right to on VFR tuning, I'd be interested in hearing his take on this...

Oh, yes the cams has more lift and optimized overlap. The ignition will be reprogrammed , letting the engine rev to 12500, it already revs 11000 with no problem.

so hotter cams, more cc's (from 750 to 830ish right?), more compression right? (from 11:1 to say 13:1?), what are you doing about the carbs? stock are what, 36mm?
id say you need atleast 40 something mm flatslides right?

The carbs are flatslide 36 keihins, might be trying something bigger.. see how it runs first, compression 13,3 :1 , the next engine will be a big bang.. two cylinders ingnite at the same time. like a v-twin. but that is in the future. (2012)

what for? I haven't read up on such things but it would seem to me that the idea of a big bang would do a lot for the torque curve but little for overall HP and RPM. So, if my assumptions are correct, what would the point be on a race bike engine?
