Congrats on the CBR600RR nonetheless, it looks like Honda went all out to regain the 600 Class Crown. I was under the understanding as in a few mags that the GSXR and ZXRR were going for closer to $8500. I'm all about Honda quality for a bit more $$$$!!!!

I will . had a bit of a Major Fall on the quad Yesterday , so ... im contemplating whether I should go for a run or not today , as I hurt my left shoulder pretty badly .

I kinda like what the guy above posted - you dont see one every day in traffic , at least not around HEre , so I like the Whole issue of Uniqueness and stand-out-from-the-crowd thing .

Pics ar eon my phone , If I can remeber the connector Ill post em straight away . I Will confess- My license exam only coming up in three days . I swore I wouldnt ride the bike until i passed . Man , but this thing is really so easy on the eye , and easy to ride , how I could I resist , in 28 degree weather ??? lol

To bad they didn't have a better fuel mapper @ Daytona  or they most likely would of clean sweaped up !

As for deciding on keeping the VFR after purchasing the '07CBR600RR ?

I'm a firm beliver that you can never have to much of a good thing.
You should keep the VFR & as a matter of fact, p/u something else as well:biggrin:

don't forget most insurances give multi vehicle discounts:smile:

That fuel mapping issue at Daytona last weekend was amazing!!! How does a factory team with millions of dollars invested in R & D blow fuel calculations on all three factory riders? Unbelievable!!!

I'm with Taz... can there ever be too many bikes? I'm thinking one for each day would be a good start and a cool garage to house them all! I've got three in my garage right now... and there isn't enough room for more!

    2. only thing in the garage is spare parts, tools, & the bikes (oh & a tv vcr while working on the bikes)

    3. build a shed for the wife's stoage sh_t, because she'll never use it anyway's.

    4. Yes, a bike for each day of the Month:dance: (each day of the week, thats too easy  ).

    God, I'm glad I have good, & cheap insurance:biggrin:

I sat on the new CBR600 over the weekend. I was blown away on how light it is. WOW! It would be a fun 3rd bike for me. My wishlist for it would be some slightly taller ergos and a little more wind protection. Well - I can dream.

    How many bikes is enough?

I don't recall who it was, but some celebrity I "heard" (likely read) about has something like 50 bikes! At that rate, you're nearly riding a different one every week! That's not too bad. Now a different one every day... that would take a full-time mechanic to care for them all!

I wonder who has the largest, ridable bike collection in the States and how many bikes they have?

    Just curious...

I know Jay Leno has a pretty good stable and he actually rides them! I just don't know how many he owns.

E-mail Jay, he or a aid will respond with your answer. He's a nice guy & I rapped with him @ one of the Love Rides I was a volunteer at, & I asked him How many bikes he has & the answer - I didn't count them yet this week, it's always growing & rolled his eyes & laughed.
I'm not sure but try Jayleno@nbclatenight.com or Try Yahoo search engine to find his nbc e-mail or it may even give you an answer.

I had 39 bikes (no not bicycles) 1.5 ys ago when I 1st moved to Utah, then got down to nine, & now back up to 12.
but that may change, because I'll be in So. Cal. this weekend & may p/u a couple of used ones.
All are running but 2 (the 2 that I'm keeping in origanal factory shipping containers serial # concurrent zero miles Nortons I will not assemble because worth more $$$$$$$ that way) There different bikes for different things, & all street legal.
I'm a firm believer that you can never have enough fun, when it comes to Motorcycles.

    Taz,

That is amazing!!! Jay has always seemed pretty approachable when it comes to bikes and that is an admirable thing. Motorcycles have always seemed to be the great social equalizer!

You must have a large stable to hold that many bikes. Even 12 is an impressive number, I can't imagine 39! Whoa!

As for the Nortons... God bless you, my man! God bless you! That is a piece of motorcycling immortality...

    Dime a dozen (VFR's that is & I ride with about 5 - 7 guy's that have them) up here, & another of the "many" reasons I didn't get a '06 or '07 model & p/u a new Triumph ST Sprint instead.

Boy O boy is this going to start some arguments :argue:

Actually I'm very impressed with the bike & yes the only down side is You will wait for certain parts from England FOR A LONG TIME, but a lot of parts are the same on there other bikes & interchangable. I run mine hard in the canyons & on the track & no probs & it handles better & has goobs more power than my VFR. It was running great even with the 2 recalls (new model blues) But of course the 1st VFR's didn't have any probs when they 1st came out (of course they did & still do).

So until they come out with the new 1000 V4 or V5 (please, please, please) I'll just keep being more comfortable, faster, & better handling fun on the Sprint.
& after this weekend when I add on the new Two bros exhaust, PCIII, have it dyno tuned, it will have more ponies & faster.

Oh since I'm a multi Honda owner, I guess I can rescue myself:rolleyes:

Well If The Triumph Is So Great, why Not Sell The Vfr To Someone Whom Will Appreciate It. Someone Whom Knows There's More To A Motorcycle Than Hp. And If You Want Hp And Handling, Get A Real Fast Bike Like A Gsxr1000 And Make It More Comfortable. You'll Have Far Less Problems Selling The Vfr Which Holds It's Value Very Well As Opposed To Your Trumpet.

Ahem ! Don't get me wrong I love the VFR's, they just need to be updated, like "MORE PONIES!!!", there just tooo heavy for the power they have.
I gave my VFR (the running one) to my daughter, & as for more power & still having a VFR, you must of not seen the other posts.
I bought a VFR800 with a blown motor & I'm putting in (did already) A HRC built VFR1000 motor in it. It will no doubt be ridden more than the Triumph when done, with the exception of long trips, because I'm more comfortable on the triumph for long trips.

p.s. Suzuki pfffft, been ther done that, just not reliable, I'll take a Super Hawk or My RC51's over them any day.

Interesting to note this bit , as , In South africa , buyers are More speed conscious , and Supers rule outright . they claim that dualies , or Semi's ( VFR's ) do not hold their value much .... Nice thing to find out one week after signing for the Damned thing . i was mor eof the opinion , that Vfr's DO keep their value well , as the Bike is so versatile ..

Power , yes , It could do with more . To scare whom , On What , Im not exactly sure , but I suppose riders will always want/need , More power .

Just hurts to Know that They do well Overseas , due to ride styles and trends , but over here , Unless it does 165mph + , well , then its a piece of crap .

    What nonsense .

Duuuuuuuuude you have a great bike that will do you great, I'm & some others grew up with all the VFR's & RC's & were spoiled as well as long for that performance (OK HP) to back up the increasing weight the bike has added to it's diet. The bike "IS" the best all around & most reliable Sport Bike/Tourer made.

    You did good:smile:

p.s. are you all happy I said that now ! (still want gear cams, & more CC's)

OK, I just skimmed the previous posts so forgive me if I missed something, but I'm replying to the original post. I had a VFR, and it broke down. I didn't have the time or money to mess with it, so I had to buy a new 2002 Honda CBR 954. Now everyone was pushing me to sell the VFR, but I just couldn't, its was my first. I moved to AZ, and left the VFR in Ohio thinking, well, I have a my sports bike so I don't need two.

I've had sooooo much fun with the CBR, and my riding ability has increased soooo much. I love the track, and have been hitting canyon roads like nobodies business, scraping pegs and all that. But that wears off. Now, I barely ride the CBR, because I don't have a lot of time for the canyons, and its just not fun to ride the CBR in town. I've also been going on long trips, but opt for the car because the thought of sitting on the CBR for more than an hour makes me hurt all over.

I'm so glad I didn't sell the viffer. I actually just payed to have it shipped to me in AZ. I haven't decided if Im going to sell the CBR yet, might still keep it for track days, and when I feel like dragging a knee. But Im soo excited about getting my VFR back. I can finally return to the days when a motorcycle ride was something I considered relaxing rather than just a chance to cheat death.

Just my two cents. If you think your going to be able to just hop on the CBR and cruise around like you do on the VFR, your probably wrong. Once you get seated in that crouch-rocket position, your not happy unless your doing over 100, or your dragging your knee. Its just the way the bike was designed.

I'd say keep the VFR if its at all possible. If there is absolutely no way you can keep the viffer, get the CBR. Its definately an experience you need to try and your going to love it to death. Just keep in mind eventually you'll want to relax on your bike, or go on a long trip, and you'll definately miss the VFR. Im so glad I kept mine :)
