VFR is not 573 wet. 6 Gen is 540.

I'm happy with my FZ1 though, it's 485 curb weight and 130RWHP stock. Did I mention I'm 130 pounds, needless to say If I taped some wings to my arms I'd fly.

Dude, that's my dream bike. Don't torture me. I'm going to go crawl into a corner into the feeble position and cry now.

    Can I borrow 30k?

I visit family in Brooklyn a few times a year. There are Busas in groups all over the place, riding hell bent for election. Most have very l--o--n--g extended swing arms. Guess it's pretty much straight line riding in the city, so handling must not be an issue.

By the way, I have to ask, "feeble" position? Is that anything like lying "prostate" on the ground?

With you there, an RSV4 would be top of my shopping list when I win the Lottery. Its main use would be for track days and short blasts the VFR stays of course though upgraded with '05 R1 USD forks, an Ohlins rear, motad headers and ...

Applologies on the bunny comment, no small animals were harmed was just making an appropriate tool for the the job statment.

How much faster does it make you to beat the sHi@t out of the throttle? Just curious cause I haven't tried it yet.

I can apreciate both bikes but I know I would rather have my vfr and be able to ride all day. I guess it would be nice to have a second bike but I imagine I would still be riding the vfr most of the time.

As it was said before, "comparing apples to oranges".

I know we bashed the 'busa' generally because the asshole poseurs who ride them, stretch them out, bling them out, etc.

But having ridden my friend Jeff's stock 07 and I have a very high opinion of the busa in stock form. When I hear how the busa can't turn becasue it's a pig; I know those people have not ridden one. They arn't THAT bad. It's actually a very managable bike.

If people still don't want to believe a busa can turn, come out to the track days Jeff and I will be attending and you'll see Jeff ride his busa like a race bike. Even the NESBA Control Rider's laugh and tell him "That's not a track bike, but you sure ride it like one!"

It's alot of fun to watch, just ask betarace.

wow, what a news flash, the 'busa is faster than a VFR. I will never understand the constant comparisons people have to make between bikes. Why not just enjoy the bike you selected, after all, there must have been something you liked about before you bought it. If your going to do the "my bike is faster than yours" thing, at least do it with bikes in the same class.

balls out speed vs control vs just fun riding

The big 'busa is is still the king of just stupid raw power to speed. I see the young guys is shorts t-shirts and sandal on them all the time in the summer. I see the same bike wadded up at auction the year they are bought. I rode the 'busa and liked the bike. Not 'nuff to buy one. just no where to strech its legs in north east ohio and though I thought it handled ok at low speed, just not the all around bike i like to ride. Last year I rode a buell 1200 street fighter in some twisties around here and it scared the hell outta me. Oh, it can corner with the best of them, near the point that it proformed outside my ability to ride it. I guess there is a fine line between responsive and unforgiving to a mistake. That short, ugly bike would have me buying new gear every weekend 'cuase my ass would be sliding on pavement more than the seat. I own the 04 FZ1 now and love it. seemed to be a good bike for me. I have to admit, the wife on her GEN 3 gets in and out of corners better than i do to the point i don't like following her thinking im spending the next weekend putting new pegs and can on her bike. Havent had to do that yet. Season is young here in ohio. I may never be that guy who runs his bike on track days and I'm cool with that. Im still holding out for the "perfect bike". whith honda dropping the ball on vfr1000 i may not see it. I love the new duc streetfighter and it may be the one i pine over for the near future. But if it comes down to it the bike i will never sell is my 81 cb750 four. all the bells and whistles aside, it is still my favorite. Killed bambi on it 2 years back and got it as a rolling chassie again this winter. Its also the bike that made me learn ATGATT. Im not a vetern rider my any means, 10 years on street bikes and im still learning the feeling "that was stupid" when I put the kick stand down. My point is Id be just as happy on my wifes old 81 k-305 as a 'busa. It beats the hell outta my ford f-150.YouTube - Ducati Streetfighter - official video

Really? Wow... a busa is fast in a straight line? Hadn't seen a video like that before. Take it out on the track and dip in and out of turns with it.

Then take it to your garage, put one of those nice shiney, stretched swingarms on it. May as well slap a knobby on it while you're at it and do a lil hill climbing out in Appalchia somewhere. Make sure you have that nice shiney grill insert in your mouth to match the bike.

I've ridden a busa before - many times. I love it for the thrill of the acceleration. But for me personally, I hate the way it handles. It's fine for a straight line, but that's pretty much it. I like hitting the twisties on the backroads, and it just isn't nimble enough for me. If I wanted to cruise the strip at the beach with a loud exhaust and waste 5 gallons of gas revving the engine at 2 mph with a chick whose *ss is 5 times too big for her on the back of the bike, I'd prolly pick a Busa. I'd need the extra power to haul her big *ss around. My riding style dictates a bike that handles well through twisties, has good acceleration to give me a thrill once in a while and is comfortable for a few hundred miles on those day trips.

Showing a busa outrunning a VFR is like me showing you my Titan against the nicest Harley edition Ford has to offer. I mean, c'mon, really??

This is where the Busa belongs...check the list of bikes in the 200 MPH club. Single purpose, but good at that single purpose.

I don't doubt a 'busa can turn if you will it hard enough, what I was saying is compared to other bikes it's flickability is rather sluggish and its clearances and long wheel base don't exactly lend itself to cornering machine. Technically neither my FZ1 or VFRs are BEST suited for that, they are better suited however, IMO. I've only ridden a brief stint on a hayabusa, though the first thing I noticed is that is that it requires more lean angle to make even simple traffic manuevers and eats up peg clearance a lot faster.
