Sense, in safety terms, has little to do with our desire to ride. But a little is always a good thing. Kinda like salt on a steak.

    Hey Stewart

If you decide to go back to work, be careful and don't over do it. I know this sounds like common sense but you know it would seem for most of us, myself included, we just enter right back in to our normal routine and do something we normally would and, well, you get the idea........

After my bike accident I returned to work probably more quickly than I should have (3 weeks) since I was self employed and the one thing that happened that I did not expect happened. I got a cold for crying out loud. Believe me, getting a chest cold 3 weeks after suffering fractured ribs is an adventure in pain I would not wish on anyone.

My doc in rehab told me to only walk half as far as I thought I could.................... and then added "Because you still have to get back where you started from in the first place." Sounded like odd advice..........at first.

    All the best

    Bill

Glad you're doing better, and hope you continue to heal quickly.

I was on I-81 driving up to Pulaski on Friday morning. I think I was just north of Tully when we hit white out conditions. We slowed to about 10mph. Came upon an accident (northbound) that had 2 tractor trailers and one car. Everyone seemed to be OK, so we drove on. I think we were about the 3rd car to pass that accident. A bit down the road, saw another accident on the southbound side (snow had subsided enough to let us see that far).

We later learned the accident was a 20 car pile up, and that 81 was closed down for around 2 hours.

It was a nasty little stretch of lake effect snow.

Yes, Friday morning was a total mess and I should have just worked from home rather than taking the drive in. Where I got taken out was just about 10 miles from where you were at. The further north and west that you went, the worse it got.

Agreed. I'm definitely thankful for that.
