I bought a BMW so I don't have to wave anymore.

    It's in the contract.

Damn near everybody waves around here, as well as the two-wheeled patrol units. One of the cops here in town will even push you through the corners on his BMW. But OK is one of those places where people wave at you no matter what. Driving down the road in my pickup in rural areas gets just as many waves as the VFR, and of course EVERYBODY likes to wave when I take the cover off the Rx-7 and put her on the streets!

I'll wave to scooter riders. I feel a bit of a kinship with anyone on two wheels. I'll wave to Can-Am Spiders and the old man three wheel touring Wings and Harleys but grudgingly. I just don't think a tricycle is the same as a two wheeled bike. I'll wave to Harley riders. I'll wave at drivers who do courteous things like wait for a line of bikes. I want them to know we are friendly and appreciate the gesture. I'll wave at cyclists because I have been there too. Sure it's a pain in the butt to wave, especially on those first warm days of spring when everyone is out (and you have been riding all winter) but it really is special too. We are a part of a group that's not small but not overly huge either. We wave to each other because we get it and there is a kinship between all riders that throw a leg over a bike.

I live in rural Texas. Every driver lifts two fingers off the wheel as you pass in an informal wave.

If those two wheeled motor things are waving back, somebody at that leather bar may be dosing your KoolAid.

I'll wave to about anybody on 2 wheels. I don't particularly like waving to stretched bikes around here. the overwhelming majority are extremely squiddish posers. I'll even wave to moped riders. cause , if you got a moped, you're young, you got a dreams, so a peace sign, and a few raps of the VFR's engine might just give you a push in the right direction, yanno.

I ABSOLUTELY WILL NEVER WAVE TO SCOOTERS.

NOT EVER. I piss myself off , if I do it on accident. that's how deep seeded my hatred for scooters is.

Some of those scooters cost $10K! and look a lot a sport bike at first glance. I have never seen a scooter rider wave to me, but If they did, I would wave back.

    Never. Never ever.
You will never buy a scooter because you are in love with the machine. Perhaps as a female ok. But men aspire. More importantly real men dont ride scooters. Theyre forbworthless dregs who get DUIs

Riding a 10 sec scooter is like coming out of the closet, at first everyone is shocked, but in the end your still gay.

I wave at just about everyone on two wheels as well. Except bicycles no matter the type. They always ride on this narrow two lane country rode I use to get to work and they always ride in the middle of the lane or are weaving back and forth not paying attention. I honk at them a lot so they know I am behind them, even have to do this with my diesel pickup.

Even waved at a rather large fellow on a pretty small scooter the other day but I don't think he knew what was going on because he didn't wave back.

I did have a funny experience this past Sunday morning on my way home from work. Was getting on I-5, headed home and in the fast lane was a group of five harley's. Three on the left side of the fast lane and two staggered in the right side of the fast lane. When I merged the fast lane slowed up and I came up next to the group in the slow lane. The fast lane sped back up and the group past me back. When it was clear I moved over into the fast lane behind the group but kept my distance. As soon as I was behind the group the last guy on the left closed up the group and rode in the center of the lane. I just laughed at them and though what a bunch of idiots. Was behind them a couple more miles till they signaled a lane change with their arms, changed lanes, then exited to a rest area.

I do work with a harley guy, and he is a pretty good guy so I know not all of them are idoits.

I work with a hd doode too, he is training me. We really don't discuss motorcycles all that much, I do know that the sales tax on his bike would still be more than two motorcycles I own.

Far as waving goes, it depends on how the mood strikes me, I would not rule oot, waving at a moped if it gave me a laugh. Side bar: If a cage operator gives me a break, I wave sometimes. Oot in the "Everglades" middle of no-where, I was stretching the viffers legs and had to subsequently pass a bunch of them (cagers-truckers.) I turned around at some point on the ride and was riding back towards the mouth breathers that I passed, I waved at one doode in a white pick up who looked a little dumb-founded. Sometimes in the same situation, I get a thumbsup. Its all good really.

I have been known to switch up my wave to a "big gay Al " style wave just to wake people up. It is true.

    LOL!

I'm on Blewitt Pass one day headed toward Snoqualimie pass, on a nice day ride out of Seattle. Not much law there so I am making good time I see a bike with a passenger coming from the other direction. It's a couple on a Harley. Before I can wave they both shoot me the bone.. It was almost a choreographed movement.. Sort of disproving that crap aboot meeting the nicest people on a Honda.

A fun wave is to wave at little dudes who are looking out of the back windows of SUVs. They understand sign language better than we might think.

I think the guys on scooters are to terrified to lift a hand.

Scooters are great...... for getting around the track when you not on it. Sometimes we have pit bike/scooter races at lunch time. Hysterically slow but fun to watch guys in full gear on them. And inevitably someone will low side side his pit bike and have a long walk of shame back if he cant get it running.

Talkin about scooters...at work we have a whole 8 motorcycle parking spots and these little turds (not talkin about SOT) take up half with these...non motorcycles.
Its funny I'm all geared up ... sliding on my helmet sweating my Tukis off...these guys and gals mostly 200 lbs + come out in shorts and t shirts slide the tiny harley dude helmets on and dont even strap it and always hauls ass through the structure.....guess its like back in the 70's with us more mature kids riding on streets with all those ill handling bikes of yore with no helmets......
Find myself muttering ..those dam kids....full circle
