As the old man already has a TL1000R, I'd have to go with a BMW S1000R. I do like me the naked bikes and having that S1000 engine would feel amazing.

It's kind of like when my kid asked me "Dad, what's your favorite car?" I replied "one that is paid for." I tend to like my bikes the same way.

OK, this is kinda nutz, especially since Jason has jumped on the band wagon too. So went in checking a certain helmet, and as I walk through the doors low and behold an Africa twin is starring at me. Nice, so nice might make me reconsider the Ape for awhile. (maybe) this beast is the SUV of bikes, Very well done, I like it. But be forewarned, if you don't have a 34" inseam, be ready to hurdle, its a tall one. But ya know what, I can actually see me on one of these. Crazy Huh ;)

If you like the 996 Honda Super Hawk, but hate the riding position and limited range, hunt down a KTM 990 Super Duke. It is what Honda could have, and should have built.

    I have my dream bikes.

I've owned a single, a couple of parallel twins, three inline fours, too many v-4s....but no triples. On my wish list right now is the Yamaha Tracer/FJ09, or the upcoming 800cc Triumph Street Triple. Or if an ageing body didn't get in the way, one of these:

A 1981 Honda CB900F. Owned one of these bikes for a few years back in my mid twenties and it was a fantastic machine.

We have one on the floor at the dealership where I work. I am a tall and it is a stretch to throw a leg over. It is one thing that turned me off to the adventure bikes. My buddy had a Triumph Tiger and watching him climb aboard, with the back seat full of gear, was painful. Once he just tipped over and fell off dragging his foot across the seat. I have to admit that I could really like a bike that that. It would actually look good with the kind of daily dirt I subject my bikes to.

I still dream of the 1987 CBR250R I almost bought years ago. Was actually ready with the money, but the guy who owned it just never got the maintenance done he was doing. I gave up and got a 94 CBR600F2 instead.

Otherwise I dream of Honda coming out with something truly desirably for 2017 :congratulatory:

I changed my mind. 2005 MV Agusta F4-1000. That inline 4 hand built italian beauty. I've never ridden something as amazing. A buddy has one and let me take it on Mulholland, Piuma, and stunt rd. Absolutely incredible. 80 mph in 1st gear at a screaming 12k rpm. Not sure I'll ever ride something that nice again. Not the most comfortable but you forget about that when you get into the canyons. Just don't get off and rest gotta stay on it and ignore the pain. As my buddy says, "Its just about as painful to ride as it is beautiful to look at."

Here is me on my friends immaculate F4:

Two of my previous bikes... 1982 Honda Magna V45 VF750C and a 1985 Suzuki Katana GS750S. I'd have either back in a heart beat. They were both fun bikes and cool in their own rights.

The Magna was restored to showroom condition, it was nearly complete in this photo.
