So there is another options besides the T30's and the PR4's that seem so popular here! I am running Conti RoadAttack Evo 2's right now. I commute every day in Seattle and put on about 3000 miles of "fun riding" in addition to 4500 commuting and have about 2500 ish miles on these specific tires. Before I had the Dunlop Sportmaxx on there for about 600 miles then those came off for PR4's. I have about 10000 ish miles total now. They seem to hold up under fairly rainy conditions but don't seem to grip as well as PR4's in REALLY heavy rain conditions. They do have a good rounded feel for cornering and provide a good confidence that I have grown fond of. PR4's are a little more expensive but I think they perform very admirably.

Bridgestone Battlax T30 GT they have a harder center belt for highway riding. Love these tires they promote quite a bit of confidence on the highway and twisty's...I don't ride in the rain much so I can't give a sufficient review on inclement weather. I do know they grip all surfaces well and for the price can't beat them. I have about 700 miles on them so far.

Metzlers for a BMW. Imagine that.

Actually, they're all pretty good tires if you don't cut the baloney too thinly.

I've had pilot road 4s on both my bikes for quite a while now and really like them. You guys have me thinking about the T30s for next time tho!

The major difference between the PR series and the T30 can be summed up thusly. The Michelin are a touring tire that is fairly sporty. The Bridgestone is a sport tire that is also good at touring. I had the rear tire slide out with the PR4 tires, almost every time on the track at Chuckwalla and they were new at the time. Almost highsided.

I haven't been able to break the T30 free on my VFR, I did on the BMW S1000XR but I was pretty deep into a turn and that bike had about 60 more horsepower. I don't know if the engine overwhelmed the tire or if there was something on the road. I rode the hell out of my tires recently and even at the end of the life of the rear, it continued grabbing like cat claws on carpet. Even with 2/32"tread, it still grabbed very well in the wet.
