Spring. A new millenium, no less. I won't get into the argument of when millenium technically starts. Not because I am a firm believer in one view point(on the topic of yearly things) or the other, but because it would steal from the sentiment.
I read alot. I write a little. When I write I use what is around me. If I am watching Shakespeare, it gets alluded to.(How else could I end that sentence, but with a preposition?) If I have just finished reading the works of Poe, they show up. There might even be some Tom Robbins to be found. Maybe I just remembered sitting next to Kendra in nursing school. She might be in here too, who knows.
Plagiarism? No. I don't steal. Just borrow. I usually site my sources. That is, if I remember where I got it. Such as...an old friend named Mike said alot of funny things. I use those here and there. I would use stuff that my buddy Brian did, but I think he just used other people's stuff and made it funny. (The ear snapping thing was original, but doesn't write well) I like to quote songs alot. I usually site the group rather than the writer. My editor, if I ever get one, will probably sort all that out. If they are doing their job. Yes, Virginia, that was an incomplete sentence. I do that alot. I also use the word alot alot.

 

The nothingness

And so the nothingness thread continues, after time off for good behavior and atonement for our various sins. "Was it enough?", you ask, and well you should. If you need more time you don't need me to tell you, you know who you are.

Time to return to the attempt to coalesce the vapors of the ether around us into words. The Tiger approves. How to do this? Many are the questions for the Tiger. Few are the answers.

Keeping strictly within the guidelines set before us, after much contemplation and study we move forward cautiously ever conscious of the standards and mores we have learned, and without fear. When the time is right we charge, and feeling no pain, color outside the lines. The Tiger licks his lips, yawns, then grins from ear to ear. Sated

But comes now the usurper, cooing in our ear with seductive tales from the land of those that cannot understand. "When you don't know which end of the shovel to use, well then you have to switch everything to manual and put away the crossword puzzles", he says. He has no basis for his parameters, his rules do not apply. Brushing him aside, we walk away. Visible through the leaves and ground fog of his lair, the Tiger nods his head in approval.

We throw our leg over the saddle and thumb the bike to life. When the wind speed climbs a gloved hand rises to adjust the faceshield and the upper body assumes it's windscreen crouch as muscle memory takes over. The V Four Tiger roars on the roads.

We are back to where it began .........and so the nothingness thread continues.

I am a fan of C.S.Lewis. Not to be confused with Lewis Carroll. Once I wrote a quote of Lewis' on the chalk board, actually more than one quote and on many occasions. Anyway, my friend said,"I really liked Through The Looking Glass. Do you suppose he was on drugs like all the rest of those famous writers?" I won't site that source. You're welcome. Even though I dig Lewis (C.S.) greatly, I have been told I write more like James Joyce. Maybe Dave Berry. I used to work with a Tina Berry at the jail. I used to call her Mistress Tina. I'll probably get a call from her lawyer for mentioning it. But Heck, that's what this book is about...the Jail.
