My Ducati comes with DZUS fittings. So sweet!

They work every time. Every time.

Yes, Duz fasteners are way cool, they use em on the 4th, maybe the 3rd too. thing is the companion end. Like Driver mention once one knows the trick they ain't too bad, LOL but boy are they expensive little bugger as OOTV point out. Finger nails work good with these, so AM shouldn't have any trouble. still think there should be a better solution though. as they at times seem to be poorly made strength wise. I know the two behind the lower chin takes some beatings. I do l like their next to smoothness, IDK just one of those little things that could of should of been handled in the design phase better.

DZUS are really sweet fasteners ... might be good to just replace some of the standard ones that get removed regularly with these.

For those not familiar with this type of fastner:

Just make sure you only nip them up. Loads of folk hoss them up to the extent the start pulling the brass insert out give the threads a bit of a lube too.

Don't cha wish they never found cheaper ways to manufacture this chit and gave us those 1/4 d-zus fasteners like the did in days of yore on the RC30 and gen 3 bikes. I still have some of the original plastic phillips tip screws that rely on on screwing then pulling them out. New stuff these days kinda sucks out loud.

Oh wow .. what part if WI? I had my big moto accident just outside LaCrosse last summer.

I'll let you know. With the thick ice on my car door handle this morning, it has me second guessing a trip this weekend. I was trying to decide between the Black Hill, Duluth, or MSP.

My CBR's have Dzus fasteners on the inspection covers. The back side locks would be hard to mount on the VFR tho.

I bought some of those bolt brand years ago and they are 100 times better than the stock ones. Soooo much easier to use. I think I am down to one spare one left so time to get some more. Definitely get those to replace the stock.

Yes the hardware on the back has 2 rivets that hold them on. It may or may not fit. Most fairings that have them have a recess/reinforced area where the hardware mounts.

Push rivets and well nuts are two different animals they can serve the same function. For push rivets in a bunch of sizes try a NAPA store. If they aren't in stock ask to see the catalog. Pretty sure that NAPA can beat the price from the bike store. Well nuts come is many configurations too and under different names depending on the intended use. Example: The same principle is used on hanger bolts mounting stuff on sheetrock. ie driving the bolt or screw home expands the sheath.

Not my words..I am quoting Donald Trump from a campaign speech given in October to the Hardware Manufacturers Assn.

I gotta drop my 2 cents in.

OEM's are ridiculously easy to remove.

Depress the whole tab across the rivet with a double flat head right angled screwdriver. It's easy to grip theses tools and they work great for the job.

Have these on my 99. I use the small end of a allen key to depress the center button in areas that are a pain to see (inner front fairing)
