Time will tell. they have been around a while and have very good backing from motorcycle pros. It would take about 16k in parts to add onto something to get it in the realm of this bike. I have seen a lot of companies come and go through the years but nothing close to this. When you walk in the Barber motorcycle museum it is the first bike you see. Mr Barber loves it and he having the largest motorcycle collection on the planet says something.

The only 2 things I can think of that I would change would be self cancelling turn signals and the throttle ride by wire seems too easy to turn for me. I want more spring and resistance to feel more like a throttle cable. I know thats picky but...... 37k.

Whoa way to go I like friends like this Nice no doubt you where all giddy. Yea the sticker shock is something else for sure. there's a dealer up here that has em and I look and go, meh, not yet. anyway that's a lot of green there. But have to admire them for making the bike, those rims are like wosser.. nice, no wonder it's $ 40K . nothing like first hand experience to bring it all together, I'm jelly in that regards ;)

You pays your money, you takes your choice!

I have seen a Motus at a dealer, but haven't tried one. I know which one I'd take.

Sorry about that, pretty ridiculous I know. We are spoiled by the prices of high volume machines by large manufactures. The Motus is a limited production machine with top of the line components.

Excellent ride report, thanks for sharing the pictures too. It reminds me of a moto guzzi--moto US...top of the line components for sure plus some wide-assed saddle bags, you can pack it all in.

Wonder how they make the right angle turn from the crank to the gearbox?

Is the motor tilted forward or is that an optical dillusion from the valve cover.

Only one thing you forgot to mention Gator is who makes those beautiful carbon fibre wheels?

Motorcycle News in the UK did a write up similar to yours, the only thing they didn't like was the unavailability in the UK

It does look to be tilted forward, I'll ask Dan about that.

They are BST rims....... Just pure bike porn. Just under 14lbs of both rims! Anyone that has tried light weight rims knows how much that makes a difference in handling. Reducing such a large rotational mass weight really makes a big difference. Need to ask Alaskan how much he noticed on his VFR but he's licking his stolen bike wounds at the moment.

I forgot to add that the Motus has a dry clutch, not as loud as a Ducati but you hear it until about 2k.

Went back and found my old thread, wanted to see what Dan Bell had said about HP on the engine. Lints new thread about the naked Motus got me wondering. Dan said that 220+ is easily attainable out of the motor.
