LOL! After looking into their website, the Motus dealer in OC is literally down the street from me! The place used to be a Harley Dealer but they moved and now it's a Indian, Victory, Aprilia and Moto Guzzi dealer and apparently a Motus dealer too! They just added the Aprilia and Moto Guzzi lines a month or two ago. I pass by here quite often, I might just stop by during lunch time.

I wonder if anyone from the Tucson area will be selling them.

Personally as a nonAmerican my only comment would be make sure you don't fill the EBR grave in before this can get put in

Are you guys seriously going to pay $30,000+ for something even the Harley owners will laugh at, FFS look at that engine, you can't draw comparisons with the Moto Guzzi (that first saw the light of day 80 yrs ago), the Guzzi is proven and is better made than BMW

Plus turning the drive through 90degrees and then into a chain is a real cop out

You must have people who make great frame kits, etc, would you genuinely pay $30k+ when you could get a full custom Aprilia engined bike for less?

I think the only people buying one will be rich folk buying it as a novelty at that price. I still want to ride one though.

Would I buy, definitely not, it's not the type of V4 I'm interested in. Will I try one? yes, as I'd like to see what these guys are all about, especially for $30k! Hopefully I can get a chance next week.

Arguable points. I think if I were in the market for a new bike, I'd buy a Guzzi.. 30K is a bunch of pesos but comparing what you get in a 30K cage, I'd rather have the MOTUS. Lots more fun..

Do the harleydoods in UK actually laugh? Here they mostly just make grunting sounds resembling two letter words.

Agreed I would quite like a ride, I was just wondering if anyone here would actually pay that kind of money for one

As far as "harleydoods" this is such a small overpopulated island, with laws dating back 2,000 years to the Romans now boosted by our membership of the European Union (what a joke), that there are very few bikers over here that last more than 2 weeks as "outlaw bikers"

I keep coming across solitary Harley owners, often with pretty new bikes sat outside gas stations, they usually speak first and are always out for rides of an hour or less, whereas to me the first fill up means I'm just warming up, there's so few of us we're more of a single oppressed group to be able to develop the "fuck you all" I get from Harleydoods when I ride in the USA

HD sells the "idea" of the badboy bikers. Got a bud who sells Harleys. He has a 1955 K bike, two Aeromacchis and a bevel drive Duc. The question here might be how many dentists can be named "Mad Dog"?

Guzzis are popular in some parts of the PNW (Pacific Northwest). The Seattle dealer is tops and consistently wins "best dealer" awards.

My guess is that the MOTUS will sell. 30K USD is a bunch of pesos but when I see HDs rolling out of the local dealerships loaded with farkles almost equal to the weight of the stock bike, I am led to believe there is that disposable income available.

Maybe next time you're here you can hook up with one of the local HD bad boys and get a discount on your next teeth cleaning.. ;)

The more I read about this bike the more I like it. The analogies they use strike a cord with "American Hod Rod Feel" and with a push rod V4 I think I get it. This bike is only 500 lbs wet with an Ohlins full suspension and Brembo brakes. This is not an Eric Buell approach with Australian engines. this is an American hot rod bike. I have to ride one. I bet a lot of you guys have had love affairs with American V8's growing up. Hell when we were kids we had to have a cage that had a shit ton of torque and burn rubber. There is something magical about an American V8. Even the Italians liked playing with American muscle engines, the Ford Pantera had the Italian style and a nice 351 Cleveland in it. Always loved that motor. A buddy has a built one, too big a cam for every day driving (imho) but its a 650hp beast. Used in 2 years for 22k.......... Hmmmmmm.........

It's my Supermoto, a CCM (Clews Competition Motorcycles) R30, 650 engine from a Suzuki DR650, single cylinder, 4 valve, twin inlet/carbs, in a hand built Reynolds 531 tubing frame and White Power suspension at both ends, 340mm Brembo disc front and 280mm rear, basically a racing Supermoto with lights and registration plate

I've had mine bored out to 105mm which makes it about 710cc and put a 1/2 race cam in, K&N air filter, rejetted both carbs, put a Quill end can on, took all the emission shit off and binned it, it's now impossible to ride in a civilised manner (hence my speeding tickets), ticks over like a watch at 1500, but no power below 3,000 after which it lifts the front wheel in the first 4 gears, my hooligans bike

Alan Clews, the founder, was a top rider when MX was called 'scrambling', he rode as a BSA works rider and bought the BSA competition department out when BSA went bust, he made various BSA powered machines and parts, then used a 604cc Rotax for the first R30s before moving on to using the DR engine, the company has changed hands frequently but is now back in the Clews family making a 450 off road bike, I think one competed at Pikes Peak recently

The owners club are great, the first thing they tell you how to do is rip the emission off:eek:nthego:

Very nice bike. Twin carbs, that is interesting. I have a DR and love it, I ride it dual sport so it has pretty big knobbie tires. There is company called Procycle that sells a lot of parts for the DR including big bore kits, carbs, cams and such. They don't have a twin carb set up for the DR. Mine only has an air filter, modded carb and a AMF pipe and it runs very nice. Also rebuilt the forks and and rear shock with Racetech kits, it really needed suspension help. My neighbor who talked me into getting a DR has the big bore kit, cam, and race carb. Is definitely has a lot more snap to it than mine. Do you know how much it weighs? Getting a DR to 300 lbs is not to hard. Got to weigh mine, I have a bash plate so I added some weight back but it has saved some abuse from my off road romps.

The R30 weighs 140kg (approx, 310 pounds), they did a Dual Sport version with a longer swingarm, 21 & 18" tyres, personally I prefer my Gas Gas trials bike for off road, the R30 is the bike for all the steep, twisty roads around here, it'll lift the front wheel in 3rd going downhill

That's a Wolfman 1litre day pack on the tank

Nice bike there, a bit more civilised than the R30, the seat on mine is very minimal and takes a while to get used to, although now I'm used to it I can manage 6hrs including the frequent fuel stops, 3US gallon tank and 25 per gallon

What size wheels are those? They look like 17" Supermoto wheels?

The end can is a Quill T3, developed for big singles, at 3,000revs it turns to a straight thru:rolleyes:
