Just curious as to why the fram hatred. I haven't done any research on fram so I don't know, comparatively speaking, what's bad about them. I have used them on my cars and haven't had any bad experience. I have heard for years that there are only a few manufacturers for the many different brands of filters. I found a study this guy did on the various filters on the market. Although this is for autos, there is still some good info on there. Guy has too much time on his hands if you ask me...http://www.minimopar.net/oilfilters/

An avatar in internetese is a graphical representation of the person. If Jev looks anything like that, Can I have an avatar that looks sort of like an oil filter? Larger of course.

FRAM was notorious for making their filter elements out of cardboard for a long time. I've known a couple of mechanics who have pulled them out of cars at normal oil change intervals and the innards were totally disintegrated. I don't know if that's still the case, but when Bosch and Purolator are cheaper options, I don't feel the need to test it.

Fram got a bad jacket a few years back when one of their filters did a no-no on (I think) a Muzzy Kawasaki race bike and the engine ate itself.
